L322 Range Rover Timing Chain Replacement - any advice?

Hello all,

My 2011 L322 Supercharged Range Rover’s timing chain seems to have quit -

It’s running but crazy rough - undriveable.

I think what happens is the guides fail, the chain slackens, skips a tooth and the timing gets way off.

A few questions if anyone has any advice

1 think there’s any damage?

2 Any idea what kind of labor we’re looking at? Parts are ~$1,200

3 Anyone know anybody in the CT area who’s capable of the repair?

Thanks guys!

If it’s anything like the Ford equivalent engines, your in for 12-15 hours labor on top of parts.

Definitely seems to be the case. I got the typical dealer response “not worth fixing we’ll give you x trade-in” - starting to move away from buying new LR’s given the dealer experience and terrible reliability/cost of upkeep.

Thanks for the replies. I found someone local who has done several and was recommended by a friend - they have a reasonable cost and I talked through the repair with them to get a sense of how familiar they are with everything.

In the meantime if anyone in the CT area has someone they strongly recommend let me know! Have a couple weeks before I tow it over. Thanks guys!
