Feeler for Tithonus 110 Soft Top Rain Cover

I'm working with a local marine canvas shop to try to re-create an essential item I had for my Jeep back in college. I don't have a garage and spend way too much time taking the door tops on & off as well as rolling up/down the sides for an open air feel on my soft top Tithonus. It usually rains every 3-4 days here so I'm constantly stressing about the weather and putting everything back on before a shower. I'd also like to be able to take the top totally off and throw something over rather than spend the 30 minutes it takes to put it back on as a rainstorm approaches.

The idea is to make a durable, simple & hopefully cheap waterproof rain cover. I'm curious if anyone else would be interested. I might be able to get a cost reduction if we order more than one. The estimate is free and I'm hoping it will come in around the $250 mark.

The measurements would be taken off my Tithonus cage, so it may be able to work on SW trucks with Safety Devices external cages, or roof racks.

Here is the company:

I've also reached out to the Rain gear company & GR8Tops to see if they'd do a Defender, but it would be tough without them actually having the truck at their shop to fit.

I've attached a couple of pictures of what I'm shooting for. Would like it to have elastic straps for the rear and hooks for the sills to keep it from blowing off. Probably go with a PVC-type canvas and would also see what they could do as far as a storage bag as well.

Let me know if you're interested. Will go by there next week for an estimate/measuring. If the price is above $300 (which it very well may be) then I'm likely to be out.

I'm also posting over at DSource to see if there is any interest there as well.

The PVC top that I run is easy enough to deal with. I run it rolled-up, like a Bimini top on a
boat, most of the time. If it's going to rain, I just unlash the straps and let the sides fall. I make sure that the sides run behind the rear of the window tops and I zip the rear window but otherwise don't tie it down. In this configuration, it keeps out the rain and is easily rolled back up after the storm passes.

I agree but I prefer to take the door tops off most of the time. They are much more of a pain to get on and off, even with quick nuts. I also like to go completely topless and putting the top back on is not a fast or painless process. Hence the interest in a quick rain cover.

I was hoping to go for something like that but mine is a 4-door soft top. I just bought a car cover that I found with an internet search. Works great and keeps the water out but it covers the whole truck. A top like you showed would have been ideal.

Which top did you go with? Have a link?

I bought this. My soft top was in the middle of a change from a custom foldable top to a top from All Wheel Trim. The half door tops didn't cover the openings so I wanted something cheap and quick. I might buy a surrey top to cover just the top with no side windows and cover when it is raining.

As for your idea I am wondering if Exmoor or All Wheel Trim ever made something like this.

I think Badger did at one time but it was for a 90.

When I was rolling in my NAS with the bimini and no door tops, I kept a tarp in the truck. I rolled up the tarp and used bungee straps to keep it rolled. If it was going to rain, I through the tarp over the top of the truck and secured it to the bottom of the body with the bungees. Fast and easy and worked well.

I know the tith is a little taller than stock, but covercraft lists the 93 defender which presumably is the NAS spec with External rollcage.
It might just be worth caling them. Pricing out their "best" it was $510.

Matt, thx for doing the leg work for another solution. I will say, I went back to using a tarp and bungees. The replacement cost is short money. I got the heavy duty 15mil,, some are still avl. on the Amazon link below at ridiculous low prices.

I interchange between an 8x10 and 10x12 for the Tith. Here I have rubber stakes positioned in the ground to lash the tarp to but have since switched to bungees as it's much quicker.

I'm solving my water ingress problems by building a 36x30 garage this summer. 😉

That picture looks like it'll work perfect for me. Is that the 10x12 tarp in the pic? Thanks again!
