Looking to get some real world feedback on campers. We currently pull an 1983 Rockwood with the 300tdi 110 and she does well. Considering an upgrade to a travel trailer but wanted to get some real world advice on height and weight. I know what the max capacity is for the truck, but I don't want to push it. I'd like to not have to set up the camper (hence the travel trailer) every night when we go point to point.
We typically do on road trips, various lengths from 1 night to 6 weeks. We live at 5k feet and head up to 7-10k to camp.
What's the max height, length and weight we can pull comfortably? As in not making the 300tdi sound like it's going to implode at any moment.
I've been vetoed for a roof top tent, or any kind of dormobile conversion.
