The then you must have missed driving by Palita’s Automotive or else you would have seen about 30 more defenders.

    Failing Lift Pump?

Sounds to me more like it’s losing its prime. Perhaps the spill rail is at fault?

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I finally finished the front left axle refresh (mostly) by replacing the flexible brake hose. Is there a way to do this without making a huge mess of the brake fluid? I will still need to adjust the end float again once the shims I ordered from RN arrive. I had to use three to get it in spec...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I re-installed the swivel ball and housing, along with a new axle/cv, and just now realized I put the stub axle on upside down from how it was before. Does this matter? I expect it doesn’t, and I really do not want to open that tube of hylomar blue back up if I can help it, but will if it’s the...

    Those radius arms look great!

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I had some time to get started on refreshing the front axle in my 110, and this was a case of one step forward, two steps back. While removing the drive flange, one bolt snapped off deep inside the hub, and I can’t see how it is possible to remove the remainder. So now I have a new hub on the...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Just a few small projects today: changed the fuel filter, drained the separator and bled the brakes. Fortunately the rear calipers do seem to be working fine, but I’ll probably replace the calipers and flexible line anyway when I do the rear axles. I just realized that the PO had stronger rear...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

FedEx dropped off my last order from Rovers North, and despite the rain, I made the final connections to the spill rail and lift pump. I bled the lines and she fired right up! It definitely sounds much smoother now with the rebuilt injectors. I idled it for a bit and saw no obvious leaks...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I replaced the power steering pump and lines; another fairly unpleasant job that took 6-ish hours due to space constraints. At this point I just need the few parts to hook up the lift pump and spill rail, bleed the coolant, and I should be good to go under the hood. It will be good to see how...

    300tdi AC tensioner pulley

I can’t help but I literally encountered this issue yesterday as well. My old tensioner pulley looks nothing like the new replacement one and does not fit correctly. I’m considering replacing the bearing on the old one instead. Please update if you figure this out.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I finished a few jobs and had some small setbacks as well. Got the vacuum pump installed. This was far easier than removing it. Got the lift pump installed. This was a truly terrible job. I think in retrospect I should have rotated the crank for this job to alleviate some of the pressure...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Found some more time today to get some work done Finished installing the other oil cooler line New glow plugs in One plug was covered in oil. Not sure if that means anything. Got two injectors installed before the rain returned.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

If it wasn't for the immovable bracket for the air cleaner, changing it out would be a piece of cake. I think if I do end up having to do this again, looking into electric pumps is probably the way to go.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I’m going to try two gaskets and see if that makes a difference. I hope I don’t have to do it again anytime soon as getting to those bolts straight up sucked.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Now that I have gotten my injectors back from the rebuild shop (one of the four had tested as completely clogged) and that my final Rovers North package has arrived, I could get started with a big rebuild project. Work to be done: Install injectors Replace glow plugs Replace leak off rail...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I replaced this very corroded cylinder head heater hose adapter thing. Is it supposed to go in as-is or have any kind of sealant applied to the threads?

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

It’s a great idea. I do have photos of all the timing marks aligning, but for some reason skipped over this. The worst part is that the doubt crept in after I got the timing cover on the first time. It’s such a pain having 14 different sized bolts each needing to be torqued in a certain order...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I had the fun experience of essentially doing my timing belt all over again after having just done it a few weeks ago. Always in the back of my mind was the thought “maybe I didn’t torque the tensioner bolt down properly”, so I finally gave in and took things apart just to make sure. I’m glad I...

What tire size can I run on my alloy wheels?

I have a new set sitting in the load space lol. Just need to find the time to install.
