Who supplies the best quality, Paddock Spares or Bearmach? I'm guessing I should be looking for Timken bearings but all I see are blue bags or nothing in the descriptions. Any other "kits" from different suppliers out there? I'm also doing swivel ball seals. TIA
Well I had my local rover shop (Oliver's Automotive) in Lewisville, TX work on my 110 while I moved house. They eventually got it running, but had to clean the lines, replace some pinched lines and clean the injectors. They cut open the fuel filter and showed it to me. It was lined with...
No. However, if the shop can't crack the code I'll see if they can install both. It's been a dog to drive and I'd like to drive it at it's full potential. Where did you tap into 12v for the pump?
Turns over fine...won't catch. When it eventually does, it stumbles to life but it takes a long time.
Air filter was good, was getting fuel at good enough pressure at the injector to spray the inside of the raised hood.
Ok, well...didn't turn out so well and had it towed to Olivers Automotive, a local RV mechanic.
I did get it to restart and then once it shifted into 3rd, it bogged down and shut off again and wouldn't start. This was at a busy intersection. Police showed up and I eventually got it to start...
So there I was...off to get some exhaust work done this morning and it died on me.
Background: It's been running sluggish and at times is hard to start. This morning it took a couple minutes of stumbling to get it going. When it did get going, it felt like it was at half power. Then it...
You're probably right on the grounds. It was just a short drive...about 10 min each way and it's in the 20's here in North TX. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I'm missing that ground or if it needs to be cleaned up. Thanks for the info on the 300tdi starter. Helluva lot easier than trying...
Any 2.8 TGV gurus out there? I have about 1k miles on the engine, although it has been sitting for about 5 years. I finally finished the rebuild and have been driving it around town...only twice now.
Earlier today I noticed that it didn't shut off exactly when I turned the ignition off. It...
I'm trying to start a small veteran owned business and have some questions about obtaining an SBA loan...actually, it may be two....one for a piece of real estate and the other for inventory. I don't know where to start and haven't had any luck with local SBA folks here in TX. I thought I'd...
Much appreciated man! In the meantime I picked up a $4 automotive stethoscope and think I've narrowed down the "whistle." I'm thinking it's these screws, but they won't tighten anymore.
Man I dousted the IP with soapy water and spent a good hour trying to find a leak at all angles. Got some gnarly round circles on my palms from the fuel primer. I think I'll have to take it to a local shop and have them diagnose. F?&$!
Wooo wooooooh haha. I've been trying to narrow down the location of the whistle/leak with hose, pvc and little strips of tissue...no luck yet. I'll start tightening hoses and fittings. I called M&D engineering and they confirmed the only whistle should be from the turbo lol. I can't wait to get...
