I bought some hoses from Stoney racing and the included small elbow came off no matter what insane clamp i tried. I put a OE replacement on with a standard clamp and never happened again. I guess a few mm makes a difference.Aside from the clamp not being tight enough is there anything else that would cause the intercooler hose to pop off at the turbo during hard acceleration?
I don’t recall the brand but it is a newer silicone hose.I bought some hoses from Stoney racing and the included small elbow came off no matter what insane clamp i tried. I put a OE replacement on with a standard clamp and never happened again. I guess a few mm makes a difference.
I am using the OEM clamp. I do think you identified the problem. I need to clean the hose end and turbo outlet. Makes perfect sense, now.Silicone is more slick than rubber so it comes off easier, even more so if they get coated in oil vapor. I'd clean the pipe and hose ends well with solvent. Are you using the OEM constant tension clamps?
