I was raised around dogs, Stacey has never had one, but I haven't had one in years. This is our first Basenji and she is quite a handful. At 9 weeks old she is requiring constant attention. We picked Basenji as we really like the sighthound lines and behaviors, and initially looked into Ibizans but wanted a smaller dog. After researching for a couple years, against our better judgement we went with the Basenji. But thanks to the research we feel we are better prepared. She tends to be very open to people, and so far is liking dogs. I have read this can change overnight so we will see what happens.
Just wait for the yodeling! But most of the time they are considered a silent breed and supposedly one of the oldest. We knew a few from the dog run when we lived in NYC but I don't think they would be cut out for the Maine winters.
Our Husky pup is almost 7 months (got him at 8 weeks). It's been a long & fun 5 months. Here he is finding a dead snake in 2 feet of snow.
Brody and I heading East to get out of the smoke.
Southern Oregon is having a hell of a time getting multiple fires under control, so the bottom part of the state is covered in smoke from I-5 to the coast.
I took this pic because we both have the same expression when we get out to play.
Our labradoodle Stella loves the defender. We took out the passenger side jump seats to give her a little more room and let her stick her face out the window.
This was about 6 years ago in my old truck (Big Red). Snapped a dangerous highway-speed selfie with my partner in crime, Butterball. Hes gone now, but was the coolest Pitbull/Basset Hound mix ever.
