I have a r380 sitting in my garage, is it possible to order the parts from Ashcroft and make it "HD"? I know I can change my transfer case to 1.2 ratio but was wondering if I can also make the r380 HD.

Thank you,

Nope, cant do that. They dont sell the HD bearings by themselves. Also, the inside of the transmission case needs machined out a bit to fit the beefier bearings.

Here's the beef. https://www.ashcroft-transmissions.c...ource/2385.jpg

Come the revolution and I pull the cummins trigger (hope and pray) I'd also replace my currently 23 year old Transfer box with a fresh unit from Mr Ashcroft.

Yep, those are them, but you cant buy just the bearings. I asked. Just have to pull the trigger on a fully built Ashcroft HD R380.

If any of you are MotorTrend On Demand subscribers, there is a recent Dirt Every Day Extra all about impressions of the new tune. The guys running r2.8s on Ultimate Adventure got the flash. So they drove to UA got the flash there and then wheeled. All said it was an instantly noticeable upgrade.

Yeah, the question was did the higher torque mean the R380 was a no go.
I said Dave tells me no, meaning they will hold up. My bad, should have clarified.

To put some context on this, we were offering to have harder/stronger main and input shafts made. Dave responded that this wouldn't be necessary, his HD box's could handle it.
