The reason why you should not Tee a fuel pipe is that the engine when loaded can pull enough fuel to stop the heater or pull air through the heater fuel line putting air bubbles in the injector feed.
Separate and shorter dip pipe into the fuel tank is the usual way, two tanks offers some advantages.
The effect of a burn heater left on over a weekend can include an empty fuel tank which may not help if you are out in the wilds. The worse the consequences the better you need to be protected. A typical 5KW burn heater draws about a pint an hour.
