ARB: Jack

Anyone see the new ARB Jack yet? Looks pretty sweet. I am still running the stock "high lift" jack. I like it because it fits behind my jump seats. Haven't seen pricing yet. Group buy?

Fresh off the Australian press, ARB has announced their latest 4x4 product, a long travel jack designed for off-road use. It’s simply called Jack, and despite its underwhelming name, the product itself looks absolutely awesome. It’s made from the same aircraft-grade 6061 T6 Aluminum as the BP-51 shocks and uses hydraulic pressure to lift the vehicle in half-inch increments from 6 inches to over 4 feet high. After you’ve finished your repairs and are ready to lower the vehicle, a red release switch located on the top of the jack will allow you to control the descent with a two-speed precision lowering system and built-in safety stop.

I'd be very interested. I have not been injured with my HiLift ONLY because I was very careful--and it still almost got me multiple times... The handle rebound can be nasty.

I'll probably get one--i have been waiting on a better design and I trust ARB... Do you (or anyone out here) know the folks at ARB that could do an introductory pricing for us? :)

I'm expecting it will be. The benefits warrant it for me as I have used mine quite a bit and will continue to need a high-lifting jack. I literally have been waiting for a good design to come out and if this one has it, I am in. It has to be slightly reasonable... But I am willing to spend some coin...

I like the idea, other that the likely high cost the only drawback I see with it is it appears that you can not pull with it. I think being able to pull with a HiLift is a great feature.

Yup, saw an ARB FB posting. And it was $950. Not sure if that was AU or US$ but either way you know it?s at least $950 US.

I'll believe the price. I've used the EVO hydraulic rally jack, and it's fantastic compared the the standard scissor or Bilstein jacks that most rally cars use. It's street price is in the $700 USD range. Being a race part, it's as light as it can be, not as robust as you'd want for an offroad piece, and it's range is only from 3.5" to 13.5" or so.

So, I can certainly believe the $800 price. Does it have enough benefit for that? Maybe, depending on what you are doing.

EDIT: Here's the EVO jack. http://www.evocorse.com/products/jacks/evocrk/

Well shit. I am willing to spend some coin, but that is an awful lot of coins. I am not sure about that anymore. I may have pushed $400...
