From what I'm seeing he built a winch mounting tray that fit between the frame rails, trimmed up the lower part of the grill surround and fab'ed up the ends to look like the stock bumper. Any competent metal fab shop could make you that and even use your current bumper for the ends.
If you are looking for the minimal look that would certainly fit the bill.

I have been knocking around that exact same idea. Thanks for the link. I had not gotten to the stage of figuring out if it would work yet. That looks really good. I don't care for the rubber bumper caps, but that's just a detail.

I already have a bumper that looks stock, but is actually HD. I just wish I could weld to try to fab things like this.

Extending the bumper is one option in regards to dealing with the extended grill, but that's not all I'm concerned with, and I don't want to go further out if I can help it.

Yeah, unfortunately welding is usually the problem with most of the good ideas I have. I am decent, but I always wish I was better.

I'm not a fan of winches tucked far in. I want to be able to get to mine easily if there's a problem with it. For me, the ultimate stock-looking option is the Mantec winch bumper, that's been boxed in by a competent welder.

That is a definitely a good point .I had a Tactical Rovers bumper on my Disco II. Shortened 2" to tuck it in a little further. Looked good and was fine most of the time. But ,working on the winch was a major PITA.
