Which doors fit which years? Which are the best?

I'm thinking of putting a fresh set of doors on my truck. It's a 97 D90. Which ones should I be looking for?

From the Series II to the last year the Defender was made in 2016 they will all fit your 90. Doors made up to the mid 1980s are made of Birmabright and not aluminum. So if you have half doors any doors will fit as outlined above. Or, if you have solid doors only Defender doors will fit. I’d consider any new builder such as SP in the UK. They make alu and galvie doors.

Most Defenders have aluminum doors and thus dent easier than Series trucks as Birmabright is a harder alloy. Were it me, I’d look for really good condition older Series truck half doors. Otherwise new galvie frame and alu or steel galvie skinned doors.

Good luck. 👍🏻

It's a wagon. I heard some of the later doors had their frames galvanized..
I'm probably going to look for nto doors so they will be complete... With central locking

I’ve got a wagon, and have half doors. When I did my rebuilt years ago singe piece doors weren’t easily available, so I went half doors.,
If I was doing it now, SP makes fully finished doors apart from paint. Think someone here recently got them and seemed pretty happy.

Just buy the genuine new style stamped doors. They’re still available, don’t cost too much and you’ll have something really durable that will be able to use the new-style door bottom seals. the cost will add up in the end because you’ll want a bunch of new rubber etc, but the result will be worth it.
