Really cool seeing what we all do!
I’m a mining engineer of 15 years both underground and open pit. And no gold rush Alaska isn’t how real companies do it (safety & environmental wise). Not to say it’s fake, but it only represents a couple percent of the annual domestic gold production. And also that’s not how the mining industry operates today.
I would love to se a breakdown of how much they actually spent to get the gold they show at the end. The clean up is one thing, what they spent to get there and then pay the claim owner and each other is a much different animal. The drama got too much for me.

Started as a landscape architect using computer mapping for land development clients; founded a satellite imagery consulting firm and grew it for ten years-mostly routing international pipelines and building environmental data for oil & gas exploration; did a public service stint as the State of Texas Geographic Information Officer, now doing cloud consulting and evangelizing the importance of design in the digital age.

Former Life; 20 years US Coast Guard helicopter hoist operator and maintenance tech
Current Life; part time helicopter based rescue instructor, EMT local fire dept and part time security office at local hospital.
Future Life; maybe full time woodworked????
SARTech, in a former life I was an avionicsman on H3s in Alaska.

Living in Oregon these days as a Controls Engineer for a Medical Device Manufacturing Company.

Been a Land Rover guy since I was 10. That was 48 years ago.

Currently a contractor working logistics for airborne assets in the Stan.
I've ended up specializing in operations management and logistics in conflict zones as a humanitarian aide worker as well as working in the aviation industry, mostly in East Africa and general MENA

Hmmm, I was a H3 flight mech in Kodiak from 90-92. Maybe we flew together? Man those were some great times.

High school teacher. U.S. History, and AP European History. In the past I've taught literature and language arts, history through film, street law, and even 8th grade health........ eww....

There's a certain irony in a guy who does IT, is a tech junkie, and drives a Defender.
I'm the same way and my justification is always BECAUSE I'm a tech junkie, that's why I drive something with so little tech
Those who understand complicated systems, often admire simple systems

I'm a product owner and technical strategist for a small open-sourced software consortium working with dozens of cable and telecom companies around the world. I'm sort of a gap filler between the engineering and business sides of this particular community.
