Thank you chuckc4 and mgreenspan, I'm gonna give this a shot this weekend and report back. Very helpful!

Heya Scott, I can't seem to insert the thread you were looking for but search for 'Cast Iron' and you should find it in addition to the above advice. I rescued a set in pretty dire condition and brought em back near perfect condition. I cook on one every morning..

Thanks Kevin, I found them under the sink and could just tell that they were worth saving. Now I just need to learn how to cook in one:)

That looks great. I’ve never cooked it in a skillet. Going to have to try it out.

I mainly dId it in a skillet because I only used two small eggplants and wanted at least three layers. If I was doing a larger portion in a rectangle dish, I would probably cut the eggplant lengthwise rather than in rounds.

Sort of struggled to put a meal together in between work. Chicken adovada with the only good part of my avocado and the last of some tomatoes. Treated myself to an ice cold coke after melting all the ice off the grill to cook this.

It’s icy here today, so I decided to stay home. I had made some Mexican food last night, so decided to make huevos rancheros. I’m not sure if this is the right way to do it, but it turned out good to me

One of my favorite things to do when it comes to cooking is trying to replicate dishes I love from restaurants. I threw this together for lunch yesterday. Penne in a creamy Gorgonzola sauce. Takes about 5 min to prepare the sauce and can made while cooking the noodles.

That looks amazing!
Thanks! They had a special on Culls. Wife and I had our fill plus enough lobster meat left over for a lobbie Vodka sauce over pasta a few days later. No connection yet GML is pretty good for Maine lobster to your door.

Nice I used to buy the smaller ones directly off the boat in the early AM growing up. I love lobster.

Venison goulash (sorta, its a bit of a get rid of some veggies in a Goulash-inspired stew). Cheap, filling, delicious, healthy.

Stuff:
Venison chopped into chunks, a carrot, 2 roma tomatoes, 1 sweet potato, 1 potato, a handful of radishes, a large chopped onion, a Red (sweet) pepper, some chopped broccoli.

Spices and such:
A few glugs of olive oil, large pinch/spoonful of kosher salt, pepper, paprika, turmeric, sage, rosemary, more garlic than I care to admit, a few squirts of tomato paste (in the metal tube), then a few ounces of chicken broth (really any stock is fine)

Steps:
Toss in bowl with everything above and wrap in a few layers of foil to seal. Bake at ~375-400 for at least an hour (the longer the better)
