What’s best for the front end? Bull bar, brush guard, or nothing?

Is Rockware still around? I tried to go to their website and it seems to be down. Do they have a new one?

I tried to put a deposit down on a bumper last year and he basically said, "if you can find me a fabricator, I'll take a deposit."

Scott at SG told me the bumper is $1649 with all the options (recovery points, tubing, skid plate). Powder is an extra $150, or $200 if you want the skid plate powdered too. He hasn't given me a shipping price, but perhaps that would take it to the $2k region. He said they will do another batch of them in 6-8 weeks. The ARB is about half the price if you can get one with free shipping, so if you like the look that seems like a bargain. Definitely something to consider.

That's crazy. I think the Rockware is the best design and love it on my 110. I'm wondering if he couldn't sell enough of them or it's too hard to find a fabricator that will make them.

Probably a mixture of both, but certainly more of an issue not having a fabricator available for them.

I like the heavy duty non-brush bar bumpers.

Basically a Mantec or clone.

the stock brush bar is absolute crap and decorative only. The stock bumper is weak, but a HD one you can bump into stuff without damage. The fancy stuff is about the same (SG is nice because it also mounts to the front crossmember). ARB is crap.

When was the last time you bumped into anything ?

I think the bigger problem is demand. I have to assume if the numbers were there he’d be able to charge a price that could compensate a fabricator or license the work to a manufacturer. I think there’s the same problem with good soft tops. The numbers don’t support building great stuff in America.

Check out Psyopticdevelopment.com . Jon "madcowdungbeetle" was the guy making bomb proof rock sliders and he came up with a bumper design that looks great. I dont own one but I have been following the progress. He is on facebook and instagram also.

I've seen his 90 sliders, they are phenomenal. I'll probably end up with a set for my 110.

Do you know if he sold his D90? I know he posted it here for sale a while back due to financial difficulties. He would be a good one to support so thanks for the info. That bumper looks great.
