What springs am I after...D90 w/ winch

Just want to make sure I understand before buying twice, seems to be my going rate these days.

91, D90, 200tdi w/ Warn bumper and winch. Not sure what springs are on there, likely stock but PO did a nice rattle can job and had some shady lift blocks at one point.

According to Red's info and what I read, do I just want HD rear springs for the front? Looking for stock height (+ inch or so max) but mainly looking to level out. Not really planning on too much gear aside from some light camping but there is potential for a cage in the future. Anyone have the best combo for my setup? Should I just go with OME and be done with it? TIA.

I just went back to the OEM springs from having Emu's for years. To level the front up a little I just used the rubber spring isolators top and bottom in the front. It works for me and retains great ride quality. I think the OME springs are a bit stiff on the 90's anyway. Unless you are running much larger oversized tires and heavily loaded down I would try the rubber spring isolators first.

Two years on from going with a terrfirma lift, wishing I'd gone with OEM HD instead. Best set up I ever had was oem plus Bilsteins on a D1.

IMO. 90 regular rears for the front. NRC9448 and/or NRC9449 depending on how high you want to go. If you can measure the spring length when parked flat, it will be easy to predict the lift you will get. But most likely this will put you 1" over stock.

@Red90 I guess even if the springs are old and would sag regardless of the extra weight, the worse case scenario is that it would bring the suspension back to stock height? I can easily measure the springs as they sit now while parked.

I've wondered if D110 (NRC8044, 8045) springs would be a good medium between the stock D90 (NRC9446, 9447) and D90 rear/HD 110 front (NRC9448, 9449) springs. It's hard to tell since they're dual rate coils.

They give about the same lift as the 90 fronts. 90 and 110 front axle weights are pretty close. The difference is the 110 springs are dual rate. Personally I do not see any benefit as the rate transition is too early in the compression to be useful.

The best combo I have had on previous Defenders was Land Rover springs with Billsteins but I can't remember if the rears were standard and the fronts HD or all four were HD (I had a winch ARB bumper on the front).

I am facing a similar dilemma as Frank right now. Putting a bumper and winch on the front of my NAS with stock tire height, but will probably go with larger diameter, skinny tires in the spring (BF Goodrich KO3 Mud Terrains). I rarely cary much weight in the back of my 90 but I just got a Sankey Wide Track, which I will load up with fire wood, building supplies, etc... so I am thinking HD all around now.

Red, is there value in or a reason to get hung up on left/right differences when moving rear springs up front? Meaning just get 4x of NRC9448 or NRC9449 all around depending on where I am at when I measure? TIA.

If you are tilted side to side, then use different springs or spacers to level, if you want. There are too many variables to make a blank statement. The engines are all offset to the left, which is usually the biggest problem.

Thanks, I might get all 4 the same to keep it simple, and use some spacers if needed to level. It's a 200tdi, and I have seen the left lean a bit.
