Thanks.

Did you do a complete seatbox?

Any suggestions from anyone on how to reuse this piece as YRM suggests. Anyone have one fabricated. I have an LT77.

The one side would continue the length of the seat box thus the reason I bolted the pieces back together.

The factory box is riveted and welded so that is why my holes are really big. Anyone have the correct measurements side to side. The fact that the angle piece at the top is still attached makes the top to bottom measurement will still be correct.

I am planning on Line-Xing the interior at some point so that will at least hide my somewhat "hack" job a little.

Thanks

What is the purpose of cutting up the seatbox?

What is the purpose of cutting up the seatbox?

1. The gearbox is higher than the floor and the front seat box panel.

2. The former owner had the seat box hacked up so that his seats would slide back farther. The seats were also widened so pretty much the only panels that were reusable to be able to fit a standard cubby box and normal sized seats were the right hand side tool under seat tool box.

I cleaned up the battery compartment today to prep for a winch install in a couple weeks. The battery clamps were changed to mil spec type which make an easy spot to connect the winch. Also added a blue sea terminal block to get rid of some miscellaneous fuses that were in there. I welded two bolts together by the head in an L shape to get a top post for the terminal block.

Converted more Tractor Supply 1/2-inch horse stall mats into loadspace mats for the top of the wheel boxes. Broke concentration for a minute and ended up with a slice from a razor blade across the wrist.

Swapped a tire with a gash in it on to my steel spare and my spare on to the alloy.

Oddly when driving it there was initially a misfire, but that cleared up when hot. Air temps 12degrees. Started up first time.

Fresh belts, idler pulley, and tensioners (I was chasing a squeak) on the LR3. New NGK plugs while I was in there. It looked like they had never been changed.

I installed some Rockware trailing arms today. Huge improvement in handling as my bushings were shot. I'm hoping the bushings will last a while with them not being in a constant bind due to the lift.

Finally wired up my rear work light over the weekend. I removed all of the old bad wiring the PO installed and installed fresh wiring and fuse.
Identified two extra fuses previously not known about. The heater blower fused was cut out of the block and a replacement was installed by PO (I have been troubleshooting my heating system for months) and labeled wires and fuse for electric fan with manual switch. Removed extra loose wires in engine bay going nowhere. Have to love old farm trucks.
Replaced a already replaced return fuel line hose with new hose 5/16 size. The old one was showing it's age and the clamps where giving out.
Interior lighting project and engine mount replacements are up next.

Had a heated windscreen installed in a newly painted frame by the local safelite franchise.
Guy had Trey and I help him, cool to watch it done. Windshield gasket I had bought had come in a britpart wrapper. The guy said that it fit better than some dealer purchased defender gaskets he had worked with. He was quite happy with the amount of white powder on the gasket (aids with install).

Got my hands on an ECU with an Alive Tuning Stage 1 chip. Hopefully I'll get some time in the next couple days to put it in and re-program the injectors. From everything I have read, it should be about a 40hp increase :)

I'm jealous.
We have had zilch here in Virginia this year.
I was living in Boston right off Mass Ave near City Hospital when the April Fool's Day blizzard of '97 hit.
A bunch of us had been sitting on the stoop in shorts the day before, and then 26" of snow the next day!
I was driving a YJ Wrangler back then so I went all over Boston during the storm. ha ha

I remember that April fools storm well. 18in of ultra heavy wet snow. Living on a dead end dirt road street, we had to get out before they plowed. My D1 was stopped when snow built up over the hood and underneath.

Once I dug myself out, worked with a neighbor who had a plow. He plowed, got stuck, I yanked him free, repeat.
