What have you done to your Land Rover

Found a cache of parts while cleaning up that I'd totally forgotten about. It's like finding $200 in a suit pocket!

And took him out for the first run in about three weeks. Started first time. Not bad for a 22 year old drive train. Don't need to clear a path through the snow to get him out of the barn either.

Had a week-old universal joint explode under me. Crawled down, disconnected the propshaft, locked up... and nothing. The ultra-long, ill fitting, week-old diff-lock sender had creeped out of adjustment again. So down I went again, unscrewed the darn thing off... and finally, drove off in 2WD.

Tell you something, I am NEVER buying from Paddock's again.

Paddock is in bed with Britpart, not all their stuff is from britpart, but I have it on good authority that britpart deliver the 5 semi-truck loads of parts a week!

Spent the evening installing a new lift pump. Got the truck running for the first time in a few months. Ran great now that it's finally getting fuel. The new doors stayed nice and shut on the road with their sweet anti-burst latches. Thanks to Brian Hall for those!

Next step is to order replacements for a few broken or soon-to-break rubber bits that I noticed while working under the bonnet. Then I'm going to fix my non-functional transmission brake and then start on the rear drums.

Nice Chris. Nothing more satisfying than tidying up ones rover and rolling it down the road

Too funny Dave you're in the middle of the pouring rain and down here in Florida we are in the middle of a serious drought hadn't seen any significant rain in months.

I put new shoes on the baby this week. I replaced my old chewed up BFG KM-1s for 33x12.5-15 KM-2s. It is amazing what new tires do for the handling of the truck. They are super quiet and handle great plus no more death wobble at 54.5 mph. I used to have serious "torque steer" and it wandered all over the damn road, all that has gone away and I swear it shifts smoother and is much more quie and rides like a dream. Also my lower back pain is gone, I sleep better at night and don't have to get up and take a piss as often. Winning! And I swear my sinuses have cleared up. I should've bought new tires long ago.
