Oh, today was great. Massive forward progress with a big ass hiccup. I got the turbo plumbing done, all the air intake parts installed, and was on to filling the coolant system when I realized I had a problem. My stupid p-gasket dropped down when I was reinstalling the water pump housing and I failed to notice it. The problem nevertheless announced itself by leaking coolant all over. So after a few steps back I got to move forward again and got as far as getting the fenders hung and the front lights all installed.

A reality of where I live, took a few photos of the 110 today before putting it in storage for winter.

Hahaha, so do I. Seeing your plate then I can tell exactly how you feel during winter especially a very late one like this year. I'm just 20 minutes cross the border to Canada.

It’s the high temp gasket maker stuff, am I missing something? Is this different than the hylosil recommended by all the installers that have British accents?

For steel gaskets, I’m a dry guy. The only RTV that I would ever use is Right Stuff. For paper gaskets I usually apply a thin coat of Permatex Aviation Form a Gasket. This is pretty much what you would have found techs at any Land Rover dealer using in the 90’s (and today).

That’s great input, thanks. Are you a dry guy even on the valley pan gasket? the manual says right stuff on the front and rear seals, but I’m always worried about the water passages.

I use right stuff at the corners of the lip seals, but not on the lip seals themselves. Sometimes I will use the aviation form a gasket around the water jackets of the intake because they are often pitted.

I bit a Bullet. Sometimes when I buy something I got completely over the top/take no prisoners approach. Ordered Allisport radiator with twin electric fans.

It gonna arrive in like 3 days.
