What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I installed a third eye. A third brake light above the rear window. I have had this thing sitting in my cart on Amazon for like a year because I wasn't sure if it would look any good, or whatever. But I was over at Ryan Phelps' house and noticed that he had the exact same one, and it looked OK. So after looking around for any other options, I just went ahead and ordered. I never use the rear washer anyway, so I popped that out, drilled the hole a bit larger, and stuck this thing in. Then tapped it into the brake light at one of the original bullet connections on the LH brake light.

I think I finished my interior bed/shelf. It is as light and easy to remove as possible. Probably takes a total of 3 minutes to get back to being able to put the seats in. It allows me to stack these actually-pretty-cool IKEA storage boxes under it. I can fit an entire gallon of coolant or oil in each, plus a few odds. I can fit six under the front end. Then my Pelican case fits under the back end. They strap in while alone, or if you pack things on top you can strap those things down with the self in one step. The cooler has dedicated latch straps so that it sits next to the rear cargo window. Fresh water at the rear left door. Shower fits on rear right hand door. I also made black outs for the windows, which I also tinted. (10-15 degree difference inside, by the way.) it is basic as can be, but does the job. I’ll be putting it all to the test next weekend.

The other photos show the rear LED work flood light mounted to the roof rack. Carling switch is nicely mounted inside cargo door.

Which light get you get? I used one off my old bmw that flashed three times. Looking to getting another. I know there are kits out there to do the flash thing but better if it's built in. Hey.

It’s the one linked at the top of that post. As cheap as you can go. I sealed the top seam just because people claim it leaks. But it does work. And is about the same brightness as the LED bulbs I put in earlier, so they all match. It is a bit large, but fits the spot well, and has a design that somewhat matches the lenses on the Defender lights already. Mainly, it works, and should improve safety.

Over the past 2 weeks have done a variety of things for the 110(with help from a friend)
installed dash/cluster
installed battery/battery cables
finished wiring(tested all electrical)
wired winch/spooled it
front crank seal
rear main seal
timing belt
alternator
water pump
P gasket
tensioner
valve cover gasket/stud seals
bypass hose
all 3 radiator hoses
mt82 adapter
engine mounts
transmission mount adapter/mounts
heater hoses
drop engine/trans in
trailhead 4x4 stainless oil cooler lines

building a vehicle from scratch is painfully expensive, I would never recommend it.

At least you can get the small and weird stuff you need easily. Most of us have to 1) identify what the hell it is 2) remember to order it and 3) wait for it to arrive.

That has been a blessing and a curse. Do you have any idea how much genuine hardware is, I’m selling organs for this build haha. I had intended for my wedding photo work to pay for the truck, but going from 20 weddings last year to 5 this year has been a massive hit.

my Rover dollars come from soccer refereeing. Not one game in spring time. Nominally I do close to four dozen in the fall. I think it’s going to be zero.

Replaced the rear output seal on my t case, replace the pan gasket on the case . Oil change on the transmission with MTL. Removed 3-year-old royal purple synchromesh.

The 3-year-old Royal purple was not purple anymore lol. Minimal metal on the magnetic drain plug.

Installed my VDO gauges. The VDO speedometer guidance on here was great- I used the knock off Hall Effect sensor and the brake plug. I still need to do the probe for the EGT, but all of the dash wiring is done. All wired with non-insulated crimp connectors and the Lucas style hard plastic covers. It was a really nice scratching of the OCD....

Also finally got back to work on my axle project- swapping to the "later" 24 spine units from a D1 so I can have discs in the rear and run alloys with no spacers. I should have the rear axle finished up today and then tear down starts on the front. It's going to be time to call Zack with my list- along with the front axle parts I need to do every bushing and steering component. I guess I should start my parts clean-out sale to soften the blow. Will include my fairly new RN white wolfs with a good set of 235/85/16s if anyone wants the heads up...
