VDO Gauge Guide

On my truck, I measured 330 to 13 ohms when touching the stops.

You want VDO gauge, 301-105 (240-33 Ohm range).

4" Speedo - 437-155
Hall effect sensor - YBE100530
Plug for hall effect sensor - STC4637 (brake light plug)
If you contact VDO I believe they will set your odometer to the correct reading for your vehicle.

Update to the programming part Dave mentioned, VDO no longer does this, but they have a vendor that does for $47.

Mail the Speedo in question to:

Nichols speedometer
Attn: Jacob
1336 Oakland Ave
Greensboro NC 27403

Include: Return address, contact info and mileage to program it to.
They'll do that, then call you for a CC to pay for it prior to mailing back to you.

Can Anyone tell me how to set the ODO on a VDO Speedo model 437155. Or where to send it to have it done. I asked Summit Racing where I bought it, they don't know. I have left 2 voice mails and an Email with VDO (nearly a month ago, so before all the closures) and Summit Racing called VDO two days ago for me an they haven't heard back yet either.

Is it not listed in the post right above yours?

What’s the best source for VDO stuff now that egauges is gone? Seemed like they did a good job of putting all the info and part numbers in one spot for easy buying, now it seems like lots of places sell a small slice of what you need.

Honestly reach out to Nicols, they told me that they're the exclusive repair/service entity in the states (but also sell them). My speedo was missing a few little things like bulbs, etc and they had all of that in stock. Very helpful people.

I built my own harness from the speed sensor/plug. Works great, and it really must be an easier way than having to deal with the spinning cable. If you don't have the gauge(s) already in hand, and are like me, you will find that once you are actually holding the gauge, looking at the back of it, it will all become clear. It's an easy switch to the electronic speed sensor.

I've done the same - made the harness. Easy to do and have left it very long until I get some more of the quality spade connectors and covers from British Wiring. Where are folks running the wires? In the location of the spinnning cable (perhaps change those clamps to cushion/adel clamps) or up the middle by the reverse switch wire? seems like that might be the safer bet.

To answer my own question here: I ran my harness inside a piece of 1/4 inch fuel hose- and used the clips from the original speedo cable. 1 month in, so far so good.

I appreciate the guide! I can't find Boost gauge 150-1042 in stock anywhere. Any reason I can't go with VDO 30 psi gauge 150 104 and supply my own tubing/adapters?

I think it's been covered in this thread but the vdo vision line is being discontinued. They're making a new version

For those of you on this thread following along. I'm Ariel from Lauderdale speedometer maintainer of this account. Been working here for 6 years and know the product lines that are replacing the loved Vision version you guys all enjoyed. SingleViu is the product that is replacing all the Vision gauges. You can search for them here https://www.lspeedo.com/?s=Singleviu

Pricing, We'll be willing to help you guys out if you just ask for me personally or Paul and mention this forum. We can set mileage and lighting color desired.

Wiring has changed with harnesses now when it comes to VDO Automotive Continental (VDO sold their marine division to Veratron.com) hence why somethings got phased out. I've included the wiring diagram and user manuel here https://www.dropbox.com/s/vbt0xok8yo6sazq/Singleviu-UserManual.pdf?dl=0 Direct link to wiring diagram https://www.dropbox.com/s/80olzty0218cljt/Color-Wiring-Diagram.pdf?dl=0

If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them. Thanks.

Honestly, these are really good, maybe even better looking than the vision series. It’s a shame that there are fewer options but I do appreciate that the gauge needles are white, which matches the stock LR ones. I’m willing to try these on my next project no problem.

You have one technical problem. The needles are Red when powered on. -Ariel
