using stock warning lights with alternative powerplants

This is for the cummins swap where I want to reuse the dash cluster warning lights for the wait to start, and couple others. Question is, how would you tap into the existing cluster? Should I pop the pin and leave the harness in tact and find one of those very particular connectors that I am having trouble finding? Or would you just cut the wire and splice in? Just curious what others have done!

I found the replacement terminals, but alas, only 2 in the world that I was able to find, part#ADU7973. There is also one for smaller wire, ADU7972, but those I couldn’t locate at all. Found the 2x ADU7973 at https://www.automotiveconnectors.com/lucas-rists-flag-terminal-female-11-20-mm.html
and I paid up the wazoo for them (shipping was ridiculous but unavoidable). Basically came to $15/each. But will save me from cutting a harness and splicing and I really want to avoid doing that on principal. Ive come this far, and $30 is ridiculous but so is searching for hours when my ”free” time does have a price and dinner out costs more….

I hear Ford may have used them for a while so if someone wants to deep dive, you may find them— I’m moving on to next “thing”.
