Useful Cummins R2.8 conversion parts

Now that the repowerowners forum is gone and so is the thread with useful part numbers, figure this is the next best place to develop a listing of the useful parts that can be used in conversions. I will start with the Turbo intake piping options.

Foton Tunland Cummins 2.8 Intake Hose
PN: P1119012001A0
Note: Around $60 shipped from Aliexpress. IMO very cost effective when you think about how much you spend on adapters and other pipes just to get something close to this e.g. intake elbows and couplers.

GAZelle intake hose setup:
Note: Crankcase breather hose appears to vent to atmosphere around the oil filter area.

For turbo exhaust outlet options, there are many more that will take a bit of confirmation before I post. From what I have been able to discern, all of the outlets for this engine use a common Holset V-band size that was used on the mid 2000's Dodge Cummins as well.
You can see the two available turbo exhaust outlets on the Cummins website,
This is the adapter you can use to build your exhaust for all the non DOC outlets :

Another Part number to fit the V-Band outlet is :
Adapter Flange PN:3910990
Clamp PN: 3903652
V-Band Gasket: Possibly 68071676AA
Note: Smaller piping compared to Benzforce adapter but probably not a big deal. See below for measurements

Motor Mounts are available from the Brazil Ford Application of the ISF2.8. Not sure I can recommend these mounts due to the costs I am seeing for them online. Possible they could be cheaper through local diesel parts store. This post is just for informational purposes unless someone does decide to use them. It looks like they use the common engine rubbers like earlier Cummins.

PN's:

Can see it a bit more here in the corner of this pic:

Here is the breakdown of the mounting setup from the GAZelle application of the ISF2.8. Not sure how you would even go about purchasing and importing these parts. The prices seem way too cheap looking at them online but could just be lost in translation. Otherwise just for informational purposes.

Non EGR exhaust manifold non EGR intake manifold for applications that can use it legally and just for informational purposes:

Exhaust Manifold: 4988653
Intake Manifold: 5267619

Would clean up a lot of space and small weight savings on engine. Could possibly use leftover EGR coolant lines for better heater box line routing on LHD vehicles also.

Water Pump Inlet connections.

Straight shorter inlet:

Cummins gives the part number for metal oil pan and dipstick on its site but here are the full breakdowns incase someone wants a different dipstick setup.

Alternator bracket assemblies. Cummins list the alternative setup on the site already but here's another

From the Ford Application above:
PN's: 5311718 or 5301339

Note: Application specifies a Valeo AC compressor model DKS17. Judging by everything I keep finding, this points toward the 2000's Dodge Cummins AC compressors but I have no confirmation. Could really help with those needing more space near frame rail and not fiddling around with making motor mounts clear AC Compressor. Dodge Compressors cheap and available.

Another Alternator assembly. This one from the VW Cummins Application. Prices for this support show around $170 but can always be cheaper locally. Layout is alternator, Compressor and Power Steering Pump. Compressor is labeled as VALEO/DKS15DS but points towards the compressor info I put above. Alternator is listed as 3X lug mount which points me towards the Dodge application as well which expands options for higher amp output alternators more easily accessible. Will really need confirmation from someone utilizing this setup eventually.

PN'S: 5400523 or 5400524

Here is the motor mount setup from the VW application. Prices again seem way too cheap when converted and places I am finding it online. Best bet for good pricing is to go to local store that can pull and order from Cummins database for legit pricing.

Awesome info! Was looking for a new water pump outlet for my setup and Axis is impossible to reach, so thanks for that. Keep this kind of tech coming.

As for EGR stuff, I drew blockoff plates for the intake and exhaust manifolds that were like $20 to laser cut. Happy to share those files with anyone interested.

What's the vehicle application in your post about alternators? i like that intake tube configuration.

Ash, I may or may not have a set of your plates on my engine. Thanks again for that.

I'm assuming you're asking about the VW Application. There are a few intakes I haven't posted about because they appear to use different turbos. I will post them eventually. The exhaust manifold looks the same except a divided part going to turbine.

The VW is " VW Delivery Express Van" from South America. It uses a different turbo so not sure what kind of intake adapter will be needed to use if you put it on the R2.8 turbo. Here are the details including the turbo in case someone is curious.

Tunland Motor Mounts. Cummins knows the issues they have with the setup they offered when the AC compressor is used and foils most motor mounts. The Tunland setup anticipates that and has the right side mount with a bent tab and brackets offset backwards for clearance. Search on AliExpress to buy these parts. The rubber parts of the mounts look extremely similar to Tacoma mounts but its probably just a coincidence.

Prices for mounts don't seem too bad if you buy it in one go and get the supplier to combine shipping.

At that price I'll order one and see how it fits up to the R2.8 turbo inlet. Even if it needs a small adapter it's tidy. I'm set on running a proper canister style air cleaner with a snorkel, so that may be a good base to build from.

Forgot to add. The crankcase breather hose is this one if you don't want to use a universal hose.

AC compressor mounting adapter. This is an interesting part because I have only found it on a single engine by chance. Would have been much more useful in the early days when everyone was adapting the motor and trying to use their stock AC compressors.

Air compressor Fittings for the Cummins air compressor were impossible to find off the shelf at the start, I still haven't seen anyone post this and didn't find it until today.. My Cummins Compressor label and all documentation call it a DKS-17SE compressor. Here are some fittings that are way cheaper than what I paid for mine. I measured my compressor and the top two links match the measurements exactly.
