Not bad. If you are only working on vaguely new rovers so you don’t need SAE, I’d spend a couple bucks more and get the 172 piece Gedore red set. (It went down to $106 but even back at $130 it is a great deal). Although it has fewer pieces by count, it is much more comprehensive. I bought a couple new chinesium craftsman sockets and they seem ok. I have not beat on them, or even used them, as they are odd sizes.

I have been looking for reasonably priced metric wrenches to throw in trucks. Can’t seem to find any that are good and reasonable. Either cheap and maybe ok (like crescent) or good but close enough to being expensive I rather pay a little more and get really great wrenches. Thinking about getting a set of wright next to try.

Scroll down a bit and look under 'other sellers' on that page, Ez-Tools USA has it at $119 shipping inc still. I have the set and love it & as Ron says, even at $130, it's a great deal.

Amazon pricing fluctuates like the wind..

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone own the Gedore 7 XL wrenches? Maybe comparison to Hazet 600LG, Stahlwille 14, Wright, snap-on etc.

Amazon.de had a bunch of Gedore (blue) wrench sets on sale so I picked up all of them. They still have a couple of metric b pattern available.

I'm waiting for your de-hoarding ad in the for-sale section before buying any more tools.

Ha. You may be waiting for a while. I mean, have I ever de-hoarded? Or at least de-hoarded anything in the last 15 years. Other than vehicle storage, I have space to hoard for the rest of my life.

I scored a new Gedore 8571-01 for $469 off Amazon (normal discount price is $1700 plus).

520-1000nm or torque. Dropable. Ugh. So cool. It was bothering me that I was doing wheel nuts on my GT3 with the US made precision instruments torque wrench (even if it is what snap on rebrands).

I got sick of waiting for Stahlwille to get the flex joint ratchets back in stock so misterworker can ship me the 1/4 and 1/2, so to prompt them I ordered the Gedore ones 1/2 both styles, and a 3/8 even though I already have the Stahlwille 3/8. I also already have another long 1/2in but I like it so much the second one goes to the castle and I ordered a proxxon 1/4 for the castle too. :) And I was not kidding about ordering all the Gedore wrenches as you can see below (the 12 piece flat double ring set Gedore 4-120 6mm-32mm 12 piece was actually less expensive on US Amazon at $155, now $245 and out of stock, so I ordered from us Amazon). I ordered two sets of Gedore 1 B (big and small in both metric and SAE) so the smaller sets (to 24mm and 1in) can go in the castle set. And yes, I meant to order two pair of VBW s-jaw pliers. Recall these are the ones I ordered way back and they sent me something else — a rothman water pump pliers (and then comped it). I like to akimbo my pliers which is why I ordered the second 240mm water pump Stahlwille pliers too.

One small point that may matter to some, for $1 more you can get expedited shipping from Amazon.de. That is super worth it as they usually ship in a day and it’s guaranteed so if they mess up you get shipping costs back, unfortunately, if you order anything out of stock (like my second order) you don’t get that option. :( Let’s see how bad DHL mangles the boxes this time. ;) Given how slow US Amazon is these days, Amazon.de expedited might be quicker ….

Shoot. The pics did not show prices.

Anyway, here are the linkto the Gedore wrench sets:

Gedore 1 B (longer, heavy duty, offset ring end, similar to stahlwille 14)

The 10-24mm and 10-32mm at the ends have the wrenches that are most common and seem like the best deals (I ordered them and both SAE sets).

The Gedore 7 (normal pattern wrench like Stahlwille 13)

I got the 8-32mm 20 piece so I had every wrench I am likely to use.

Gedore 7XL (long pattern, spendy, probably not as long or as spendy as hazet 600LG)

I got the 8-19mm and filled in the gaps. The 8-22mm and add the 15mm for $15 and add the 24mm for $20 would be the way to go, but it was out of stock and I did not want to have some random XL wrenches sitting around. The 8-32 (what I wanted) won’t ship to the US and the all of them up to 41mm set in foam is $455 (minus VAT, plus shipping). I have not ordered it, yet ….

Double offset you are on your own finding. It was $167 for 12 minus VAT plus shippping but there are so many sets of them it’s nuts.

The big 1/2in flex was $125, the smaller one and 3/8 were $75 each, the Proxxon 1/4 was $20, the pliers were $35 each, knife was $19 (Knipex one was $12 at one point made in same plant), the Gedore torque wrench with extension and wheel sockets were $155 which I thought was a good deal. The ratcheting 7R were $186 apparently the 7UR are crap and this gives me flat profile to go with the Hazet and Stahlwille bent reversible style. All prices minus VAT plus shipping.

amazon.de prices on Gedore blue are about half the US dealers’ prices and, it depends, but 20-30% less than US Amazon prices after you factor in deducting VAT and paying shipping.

Not sure that it is a “deal” but Dewalt came out with its 3/8 and 1/2 “xtreme” 12v stubbies. Legit 250lbs of torque. I ordered the DCF901B 1/2 from Lowe’s. Only place that has them apparently ($149 bare tool). On the fence about getting the 3/8 too (I have the other 3/8 12v). I wish Dewalt would come out with a 3/8 and 1/4 ratchet in 12v. How they don’t have them is beyond me.

Im curious to know what you think about the DeWalt stubby; I was put off by the 12v capability vs 20v. My brushless 20v Dewalt impact wrench is a BEAST, but I’m limited to what it can reach since it is so bulky.

If it does lug nuts …

I used the Dewalt high torque 1/2 to remove head bolts and it was like a joke to it. But it’s heavy and bulky (especially with a big battery).

Frank’s got my mid-torque 1/2 20v I have to go pick up.

I got the 12v because I like the smaller tools have have 6 batteries already.

First set of Gedore 1B arrived from Amazon.de (shipped from Italy) beating the set of Gedore wrenches from Amazon.com …. Also got my Dremometer.

If anyone wants a comparison video of the Gedore 1B with the Stahlwille 14 LMK. Probably going to order all the Hazet wrenches next. Have three or four sets to buy (I have the 600LG and the ratcheting ones).
