in case you missed these pozi drives last time.

GEARWRENCH 4-Piece Screwdriver Set - $17.99 - Free shipping for Prime members https://tools.woot.com/offers/gearwrench-4-piece-screwdriver-set-3?utm_medium=share&utm_source=app

If anyone did not buy them last time or wants another set, they are back on woot for $17.99 (free shipping with prime). As a reminder, factory Land Rover screws are pozidriv aka posidriv NOT PHILLIPS. Stop using Phillips on Land Rover screws (except the ones you replaced with US style Phillips screws haha).

This vise is actually really nice for $55. (Usually $137 on Amazon). Currently available on Woot. It’s not a Heuer or Wilton USA made, but it better than most of the crap vises and weighs 39lbs. Hazet 100mm for scale

If you want to splash out a bit, the 8in sata (like 84lbs) is $200 on Amazon (32% off, lowest price in 30 days). I only got the 4in because it was the same price as a set of Malco eagle grips.

At some point you just pony up and buy a 160 or 180 Heuer (or both if you are me) or a big gressel or a USA made Wilton. But those all start at 10x what the 4in sata was selling for.

If anyone knows of a deal on a Wilton 800s let me know. That seems like the greatest currently made vise, but it’s over $3000 so a nice used one at less than that would be of great interest to me. It’s like 238lbs and made in USA.

The Sata is nice for the price, but it’s still an inexpensive vise. It’s the vise equivilent of a beater for me. Something I won’t feel bad about if I break it or it gets rusty.

(Plus my floor in the garage at the Castle is sloped into the center drain and mounting this was not happening as quickly as I wanted).

12 hours left on Woot if you are looking for an SAE set. I just got it. Pretty nice. The ratcheting wrenches are spline drive and extra long and the extensions are wobble lock.

Two other deals I got today. The craftsman are not good, but they are not bad and should do everything you need on a rover. For $4 more than the stupid cheap all in one and half the channellock all in one …. And they are normally $30 at lowes.

Sunex are wobble.

Wiha is blowing out wrench sets at 90% off.

Seems like a good deal on the big size sets in ratcheting.

And I got a free pair of lineman and a free 6 in 1 too. Free shipping as well.

Wow, I've never seen ratcheting wrenches that large; even from a quality company, I'd worry about the ratchet mechanism being able to take the torque on something like a 1.5" bolt (which may explain the stratospheric non-discounted regular price). While I can certainly imagine situations where I'd need these, most of the time I'd rather just use a socket and breaker bar--but great deal for the tool completionist.

Hazet makes them that big. I think the Hazet set to 32mm (not all inclusive) is $520 on Amazon.

Pretty sure Gedore does too.

I am not sure I have much use for them (especially the SAE set) but a deal is a deal ….

Wiha wrenches are Taiwan made. As are almost all of the ratcheting wrenches.

"Wiha wrenches are Taiwan made. As are almost all of the ratcheting wrenches."

Asian manufacturing metallurgy has improved in recent years. If wrenching were my day job, I'd probably still go with Snap-On or whomever American made, but Harbor Freight's ICON ("professional") range has pretty much become the best price-to-quality ratio for me.

You should still buy the Gedore red 172 piece set, but if you want an ok trunk kit for $29.49 you can get the workpro 101 piece if you follow the instructions from struggleville.net (not affiliated and I think ok to post but let me know if I have offended).

PRICE IS $29.49 after promo not $55.

Buy from greatstar seller (not Amazon as seller, you have to go to other sellers) and use promo code 50AOL73R

I just picked up one as well.

Not a deal but this is a great deal hunting tool, it shows the amazon price history of every item Amazon sells and you can also set up free alerts so you receive a notification email when the price drops to whatever target price you set.

Completely free to use

CamelCamelCamel can be really useful in screening out all the fake sales and pricing games that amazon runs, for example here is the price history of the workpro set:

This confirms that the price for this set is usually around $54-60 and $29 is the lowest price it has reached since 2017. Anyway I'm not affiliated with Camel in any way, I just find it really useful to be able to "set and forget" amazon price alerts. If I miss a great sale I'll often set a price alert for the item at that price (or slightly above). I usually end up getting the deal eventually
