So how does the gas strut base fasten on the inside ? Is it made into the window frame ?
Did rivets go into original holes ? Did you need to modify the window apeture @ all ?
Come on Jim, give up the details.

Sadly, they do not use the existing rivet holes. No modification required (sans a few holes for the bolts) otherwise they are fully self contained units. Easier to install than the standard window for sure. They even powder coat the bolts black for ya.

Yep, as Adam notes, they don’t use the original rivet holes. I think that’s ok though, these are further from the panel edge - the originals are frequently so close that they distort the edge. The windows also provide backing plates for all the new screws.

The gas strut mounts are integral into the frames.

I did find out the hard way that it’s better to have a little too much sealant and have to clean it up than to have too little. I accidentally failed to cover some of the original holes and water seeped in like crazy on my first window. I ended up having to go back and apply the sacred strip-caulk, speak the appropriate litany, invoke the name of sealant, and say 20 hail Marys. That seemed to do the trick.

I’m 100% pleased. Especially at half the price of Front Runner.

Here’s a bunch of detail shots for Doug’s benefit. The latch seems bulky at first but it doesn’t protrude past the trim inside, so it’s out of the way. There is no interference with the cage hoop at the c-pillar.

Thanks Jim.
Man thats a funky latch mechanism.
I'd be tempted cary a spare or two.
So the phillips mounting screws are exposed ? Whats to stop a thief from removing those and popping window out ?

I think it’s a pretty standard RV/van latch but yeah. An extra might be nice.

the Phillips heads have little nuts on the inside, they’ll just spin without a tool on the inside - the nuts aren’t fastened to the plates.

There's also an epoxy holding them in. They offer security plates to go over the windows, garish - but if that's your neighborhood - better safe than sorry.

Alright, I gotta post this one.

Amazing find on e-bay, from a seller in Dubai. Sadly, this was the only one he has and I got it for a steal. (less than a share of GameShop - after hours)

NOS YMC000440 Dash wiring harness:

TD5 Era gauge connectors
AC Connector
Centralized ground
Under passenger seat discovery style fuse connector

We'll use this to build off of for the new harness for my NAS 110. It's a huge leap forward.

Two boxes of NOS unobtanium. Label picture tells the story- two long shuttered companies. Trey picked these up in Chatanooga Friday on his way back from scoring an equally rare Reed 208 vise in Alabama
