Hey all,

Just wanted to post a quick heads up(in case people were unaware) that there's a world-wide pandemic going on that's delaying nearly every service on Earth.

Please have some patience with your questionably essential Land Rover purchases. We are having delays getting parts, were down 5 people totally, and we're having limited in-house staff. All of our suppliers are taking longer to deliver, and our volume of sales has increased quite a bit with people home working on their vehicles.

Thanks for understanding!

I feel your pain. The local tile store is out of dry set & doesn't have enough of the tile I want. C'mon, I'm trying to remodel a shower! I have to wait over an hour for pizza delivery, from just 5 blocks away! The local bike shop can't service my MTB for over two weeks (they've had their best two months ever!) It's not just Defender parts, I'm backed up on jobs with my HVAC business, because no one wants to be quarantined at home in the heat with no AC. I'm a small shop - what do you want from me?!? This pandemic economic downturn is very unfairly selective (Not that I'm complaining). Be patient people!

Little tongue in cheek, but all of the above is true.

People need to settle down and realize that the world doesn't exist to wait on them.
When I started in the airline business some jackass walked up to the gate podium and pulled the "Do you know who I am" BS. The ticket agent picked up the P.A. microphone and asked the entire terminal "Does anybody know who this guy is? He asked me if I know who he is and I don't know. Perhaps one of you kind people could help him out".

I think by-and-large people are reasonable when told upfront what they should expect. If you tell me two weeks and I agree, I’ve got no business complaining since you’ve managed my expectations. And if that two weeks stretches into three? Still no problem as long as you’ve communicated that in a timely manner. But don’t tell me upfront and assume that I know what’s going on within the walls of your business, or fail to let me know parts are delayed? Anyone’s going to be put-off by that.

Surprised that you all are dealing with this, though- not only because I just ordered parts earlier this week and they’ve already been shipped, which was super fast- but also because when I had a couple of parts back-ordered a month ago you all reached out ahead of time to let me know. I think RN is nailing it right now, and glad that orders are up. Sorry that you’re down 5, as well.

Keep on keeping on!

Sorry you are going thru this ZG and that you are short handed too. Local small business guys (pizza, coffee, landscape yard) I know are saying they are working twice as hard for half the buck and I'm sure RN is too.

On the NJ mtn bike forum I'm on they bike shop workers/owners have said it's been nutso. There is nothing under $1000 available and bikes above that price are fading fast. Guys are working 12-14 hour days for repairs and putting more work money into bikes that aren't worth it ($200 of repairs on a $150 big box bike). They said if you have any old bikes that you want to sell now is the time as things are getting scooped up on FB Marketplace as soon as they go up. One of owners posted that his friends' shops in New England, Colorado and mid west are the same.

Also watch out for your stuff. The local paper said car thefts are on the rise so keep an eye on your rigs/tools/equipment. With this shortage and a hot used market and a group that doesn't care about SIP orders I'm worried more scumbags will be coming out of the woodwork.

Same here.
I'm in the building trucks with parts I can't get while trying to manage very eager customer expectations business.
Example, go to ShopCummins.com site Saturday and order parts that are indicated as being in stock.
Get email Monday, parts you have paid for are in stock, but on a different continent. We will send you an email when we ship to you from Indiana. I respond with is drop shipping direct to me not an option ? Response, no sir will come in via container, should be able to ship to you in 3 weeks. Twists me up because I have to relay/manage (now very unhappy ) customers timeline expectation.

I hear you ZG. This is just a snapshot in the picture of time that we need to remember when things get back to"normal" in a year or two.....
