Last year at about this time. Took the kids up to find some sledding hills. Ended up getting about 6" of water into the cab on the way back home.

Curious why landrover ever moved away from the ribbed roof design. My 90 roof literally deflects and flaps in the wind when at freeway speeds. aesthetically and functionally i like the ribbed roof design. Rovers in the snow is so perfect.

Is the last photo Egypt/Escalante Canyon? or North Wash?

The photo before it looks like Dark Canyon but not 100%.

No, it's the road out to the Maze Overlook. The second photo is probably one of my favorite BLM dispersed campsites in Utah, and that picture does not do it justice!

The Negev is an amazing place. I don't remember seeing Rovers there in '95, but they had their own LWB two-door CJ7 type Jeeps that I would love to get my hands on even today.

I think we camped at the same spot in Canyonlands in 5/2018. It was my favorite as well.

Here is my buddy's truck, he lives in Metula IL. His neighbor across the street is Lebanon. Check it out on Google Maps. Needless to say it is a well armed town. That is Lebanon in the background and we saw plenty of Hezbollah flags on the other side of the fence.
The second picture is some guy climbing out of a several thousand year old cistern. You may or may not recognize him but yes, he stole those glasses from Sally Jessy Raphael.

This isn't actually in Canyonlands, although it is very close. If it had remnants of a picnic table there that was falling apart in 2018 then you were in the same place. I was out there earlier this year and I think someone burned what was left of it.

CJ8, The IDF refers to them as a Storm
I'll be back there this coming April for a 5 day desert crossing with their LR Club.

Yep. Even as a stupid college kid in the '90s I knew those things were rad. ...I'll have to ask him about the glasses... I climbed into a hole like that near the Dead Sea. It was a Jewish settlement from the First Century, and had been ruined by the Romans. When the hole opened up, it was a large underground room, about 2.5 storeys high, lined with pidgeon holes carved into the smooth sides of the walls. Very strange. I think it was because they were copying the Torah, and sending out those copies to other communities via the pigeons. But I may never know. You'll need to post more pics after your next trip.

I love a good geography mystery. I was hoping for a mountain range in the background (I can recognize the profile of most every S. and C. Utah range) but there is none. The flat-topped ridge with the miniature mountain on top (right side of photo) is very unusual. The little green valley to the left of your front drivers tire is neat, too. This feels like somewhere NW of the Abajos but I'm not certain.

I'm sure that others here will tell you: I'm totally obsessed with locating and visiting every great campsite with an overlook in the state. :)
