Steel Wheels

Anyone want to talk about wheels? I'm trying to find some 16x7 or 16x8 wheels that have either the classic LR or NATO (Wolf) styling. The first picture is the Kahn 16x8.5 wheel, which would be awesome, but at $1600 a set, those may have to wait until I hit the powerball jackpot.

I've found other styles, but am not really fond of spokes or large holes in the wheels. Maybe I'm too picky, but those look "Jeepesque" to me (No offense intended to any 7-slot grille fans out there).

I intend to run 265/75R16.

So what is your questions? I have the 2nd and 3rd wheel and love them! I don?t care for the Kahn wheels personally. Are you going for looks or functionality?
I have them mounted on BFG km 2 265/75/16.

I'm looking for functionality mostly, but with the traditional LR look. I have a set of Wolf wheels, but they are 6.5" wide. I'd like to run 265s or maybe 305s for better flotation on deep snow. I guess that my question is, has anyone seen wider wheels with similar styling? I have already located modular and 8-spoke wheels, but that wasn't really what I was looking for.

fwiw 6.5 inch wide wolf wheels are fine for a 265/75.

Michael @ Riverhouse has a fellow who can band/widen wheels and has made some 8 and 10 inch wide Wolfs.

Agreed. 265/75 should fit fine. Ran 305/70 and then 35x10.50R16 Swamper SSRs on the Wolfs and it was just fine :)

I have run 265/75 on 6.5" Wolf's. No problem what so ever. Currently have Boost's on the truck, but thinking about putting the Wolf's back on soon.

I picked up a set of 16x8 steel wheels in the spring. Not sure the brand, but they look similar to the modular wheels. I'll be able to check later in the month and see if I can find any markings. They were originally black, and came off a Disco 1 from my understanding.

Interesting. I've always wondered why people don't just make more wheels that look like anr1534's instead of hunting down old ones. I wonder if they are new from scratch or if they're recentering other ones. Says out of stock, deliverable october 2017.... my calendar must be off.

Resurrecting an older thread. Found these recently and think they look very good: https://www.nakatanenga.de/en/vehic.../nakatanenga-anr-classic-steel-rim-8x16?c=299

By the way, does anyone know the hub center diameter ?

Have been kind of looking at 17" wheels, so as to perhaps go to 37" tires... Has anyone used Stazworks or Trailworthy ? Am kinda liking the Stazworks wheels and he said he can do a non-beadlock wheel in the LR 5 x 6.5" pattern.

Hope you have upgraded brakes, driveline, axles and t case ratio. , 37s are very very heavy

I think it's because they are fairly cheap. New will cost you probably over $100 a wheel. An1534s are going to be that at st powder coated and in great shape. I bought a set of 5 in nato green with michelin XZYs for about $120 a piece.

Thank you, yes. Already on 35x10.50R16 SSRs, with front and rear Sals and 4.56 gears with ARB lockers, by RoverTracks (Keith). The drivetrain is also up to the task. :)

Just don't have the hub center dimension handy :(

Where did you find those?

The last set of 5 on d source went for $2100 with no rubber, these nakatenga's are definitely a viable option at that price point.

Mod surplus in the UK. I would not use D source as a realistic price point. I've seen stuff sell on that for significantly more than it should ever cost. I think they feel better the more they pay. That's $420 a wheel. That's insane. They also had no problem with a guy buying used stuff off the forum and then waiting 3 months to sell the stuff for nearly double the price of what he paid.

If you really want some I'll sell you my set with rubber and layers of nato colors for like $1900?(That's a joke.)
