Southbound skid - go black or galvanized?

I have a yellow Southbound steering skid on my condition SW that I'd like to tone down. Considering powder coating, galvanizing, or simply painting black.

Would the PC be a much better and durable solution to spray painting? I'd consider removing the sliders to have coated as well depending on price. Suggestions?

Side question - should I remove the entire skid or try to remove the actual skid portion only?

Thanks

All the Southdown stuff I have had over the past decade was galvanized.

I can understand wanting to get rid of the yellow
