Soft top window repair

So some A-Hole thought it would be cool to slash a couple of my windows last night. It’s a ex-moor Tithonus PVC top with windows that are heat pressed on. Any ideas on how to get new ones in there? Or fix the ones I have?

That sucks Matt, sorry to hear. Where were you parked? I agree with TravelinLight, a marine canvas guy can sew new windows in. I cut mine back to accommodate my 110 5 door and a commercial sewing machine will go through that thick pvc.

It was parked at my house! We live across the street from a high school, so maybe some angst-ridden teenager was having a bad day and wanted to share it. I talked to a marine canvas place and they said they could sew something in, but that it wouldn’t be waterproof. The current windows are heat pressed onto the pvc and apparently the sewing would allow tons of water to come through?

So Infuriating. What about waterproof seam sealer tape over new marine shop stitches applied by iron? Or wax you can massage into the seams with a heat gun kinda like I do on my ski gloves. (I actually bake the gloves then apply wax but same idea).

Or look into a heat sealer tape or glue for the actual window damage itself. Will show blemish but easier solution than deleting them all.

The silver lining is your new windows would be clear of scratches and oxidation again. It seems like it'd be possible to put a bead of sealant of cement under the seam before being sewn.

I had a disagreement years ago with my local police in that they were announcing that they'd ticket any vehicle that didn't have their doors locked. I purposely didn't lock the doors of my old soft top jeep for exactly the OP's outcome with his windows (not saying that his incident was a break-in, but you see what I mean).
People can be trash. I'm sorry this happened.
I'd second the marine window recommendation, you can make that waterproof after the fact.

Thanks for the suggestions. Ultimately I found this and ordered it so we’ll see how it goes. I filed a claim with American Collectors Insurance, so we’ll see how that turns out. And yes I am very glad I did not see this person in the act or there might have been some ultra-violence…
