Slam plate

Has anyone here done a 300Tdi conversion on an ex-MoD or similar vintage truck and replaced the slam plate and radiator mount bracket? My truck has the old style plate that uses radiator brackets that secure to the wings. This style wasn't intended for use with the 300Tdi/modern style radiator frame and the fit is not good.

Is it possible to mate the new-style slam plate (for the new-style radiator mounts) to the old style breakfast?

Has anybody here done this and do you have the slam plate part number? There are a half-dozen P/Ns and I'm not sure of the differences.

Another question for someone with the new-style brackets:

Are there captive nuts on the slam plate end for the bracket to bolt into, or is it a regular nut on the back?

Remove grill, drill four holes for 6mm bolts, use either rivnuts or through bolts (easy to acces underside with grill off install new brackets.
Fast easy change, we do it often with tdi and v8 conversions.

That is what I did when I put a 300 into my Series III. Worked great. Also used the diagonal supports for extra stiffness 👍
