Side Steps...Tube or Traditional?

Just received the latest RN Rovers mag and both Defender and Series foldable side steps are pictured. The Series and Defender rubber pad is still available.
What did you end up with?

I got some "proline" Defender style steps, so the more square-ish ones.

The Boss approves ... now I just need to find my nut-sert installer and get the support rod tied in properly.

They're fine just sitting in the garage, but I don't really want to step on them until that support is in correctly.

I'll snap a pic when I'm home ... meant to do that last night

Nothing too exciting, just little square steps.

On a related note, we just started watching "Vera" on prime video ... title character is a mature female detective (UK) who drives a somewhat ratty green D90SW ... with the same style steps. My wife approved her choice of vehicles :)

And folded up ... don't really need the bumper on the sill as the travel is limited and leaves a good gap.

Very nice and they will be very useful. As mentioned my wife used them on the 109 all the time. If the pad uses nuts/bolts to attach you might want to replace them with SS as mine rusted quickly even garaged.

Thanks! Yes, the hardware doesn't look particularly weatherproof :)

The pivot bolts are a big clunky shouldered thing ... right now all I've done is give them a good squirt of FluidFilm
