Sedimenter location

I have a glass bowl sedimenter. Where is the best place to install it? I have seen them installed close to the tank down low by the frame. I have also seen them installed in the engine compartment. My thought would be as it is glass it would be safer in in engine compartment. However, does it work better down low close to the tank?

factory placement was outside of frame rail left side of tank on a 110

I put mine in cavity under passenger seat. Outside wall of tool box.

You can place it virtually anywhere. Best place as has been said is near the tank and accessible inisde the rear wheel arch. Regardless of where you put it, suggest you intsall it no lower than the bottom of the frame.

Order is:
tank -> sedimenter -> 12V fuel pump -> lift pump ->filter -> IP -> IP return line joins with injector spill over line -> tank

As long as there aren't any suction side leaks before the sedimenter...
Change any component or run out of fuel, then with fuel in the tank, switch on the key to provide power to the 12V pump and wait a few minutes for the fuel system to self bleed, then start the engine.
Hand pumping and cracking lines are for chumps!

On my ex MOD 90, the sedimentor is mounted on the RHS in the rear wheel well. Attaching a few pics that may help with orientation. Note that this is a Robert Davis sedimentor, but the MOD one was mounted in exactly the same location (no drilling required in my case). I mounted the 12v fuel pump (Airtex E8251) just forward of the sedimentor on a short piece of angle iron that is bolted to one of the rear tank mounts. I replaced all of the rigid fuel line with new, 5/16" ID fuel line.
