RRC heater blower??

Help ... no fan speeds! I changed out one of these resistors years ago so I assumed this truck suffered the same fate. Put a new resistor in and no luck! I have low speed, and then nothing on medium and high?!?

I suppose the switch could fail. I’m not much of an electronics diagnostics master....

Did you figure anything out?
Nope!
In fact, I just tried it yesterday after the truck has been sitting for weeks... but, bad news.
In the AC mode, the switch blows at all three speeds through the dash vents; so that tells me the switch is working.
Go to heat mode, and I get a little noise/air at speed 1 and nothing at 2 or 3.... :(

time to break out the wiring prints, you may have a loose connector or relay which may bypass heater when using A/C.

What year is this? I think the hard dash Range Rovers have separate fans for heat and ac. You might just have a bad fan .

Your heater blower fan is cooked. Time for dash teardown.
Resistor pack OK since you have 3 speeds on the AC blower side. Switch OK since it controls fan speed OK. Heater fan motor has pooped out. Yes it spins when fed voltage but the armature is dead so it won't spin up.

You remember the tan '91 Hunter? Still got it.
So yes the old hard dash.

Oh dear god, I knew someone was going to say that. Is'nt the entire truck built after the heater fan is installed.
And yes, it does as you've described... spins a little on low speed but it won't spin up and I quit tryin' when it started to smell...

Just throw it at Sarek and write him a fat check
LOLOL

I guess I'll start searching the YooToob for a good demo on hard dash tear downs.
I did it once before quite a few years ago but it was a truck that wasn't going back together so... I hafta pay attention how to put it all back together again. And is it worth replacing heater core? Are the new ones junk?
So many questions...

When it comes to splitting the box and installing the new motor be aware that there are more than one type of pigtail on the motor. You may need to cut off the connector from the old one and wire it to the new motor. If you do that then sometimes there's an issue with the spliced wires fitting through the plastic mounting thingy that the motor sits in. Be very aware that alignment is critical or it'll rub and then you'll hate yourself for putting it all back in only to find the fan cage is hitting making an awful racket. Ha ha been there! I have never tried the AB kit. Maybe that issue is addressed with their product. Parts Diagram:
Get some of the Frost King self adhesive foam weatherstrip. There's a good chance you'll find that your dashpot has snapped off the little nylon arm. Let me know if that's the case as I have a source for new at only a couple bucks each.
