Missed this event for the past two years.
Went ahead and booked a room today. Plan is to trailer the 90 to Waltham Mass Thursday, crash @ Ron's, leave the tow rig there, ( gave us a solid 90 chassis to haul back to VA) and drive the 90 the last 3 hrs up Friday morning. Will likely have Raub along with us.

I expected to make my first Romp so I had a room booked at the Grand. I won't end up making it so the reservation was cancelled yesterday meaning another room may be available. I'll make it to Romp at some point, if not in my 90 then perhaps my Tacoma.

We've decided to roll Wed morning. Our route will be to jump on I81 @ Lexington Va and run it all the way to Scranton Pa, jump on I84 to Sturbridge and Mass pike over to 95. We are going to overnight with Peppard outside Boston and then run the last 3 hrs up 95 Thursday morning. Hope is to be able to wheel Thursday and Friday while there are fewer folks on the trails. Anyone who wants to caravan (strength in no's and we'll be heavy with tools, fluids, etc) shoot me a text.

Damn, no Romp for me this year. Last year was a blast and can't wait to do it again. I'll be almost a local next year.

You'll be closer than us by a good bit. Just under 900 miles ea way for us. Sam Hagey is making the trip up from Austin- think he has longest distance traveled wrapped up.

On the negative....discovered CV joint's one shot grease had disappeared. Zach has put my name on replacement CV joint since its sounding granola like on parking lot turns....

Positive: Bruce has managed to negotiate an agreement to buy the land that Winter Romp is held on. This was really touch and go for some time. We need to raise $40,000 by late March to fund the purchase.

There is a go fund me site set up to collect money to fund the purchase-honestly with Bruce never having charged for the event, its been a bargain.
Please help secure the land for future WRs. Heck, we should be able to do this by the weekend if we put our hearts into it.

We're now just over three quarters of the way there. I don't care whether you contribute $50,100 or 1000, we gotta make it to $40k

We've had parents of LR owners contributing, 16 year old kids of LR owners putting in their own savings.

If you never think you'll make it to Winter Romp, just do it because someday it will be our turn to help you Rover on in your neck of the woods.

Thanks

Chris
