Retrofit TPM Systems?

So has anyone taken the steps to fit one of the aftermarket Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems? And if so would you care to comment on your research, purchase and operating experience?

Personally would like to find a system with internal pressure/temp sensors that then communicate with an iPhone/iPad app for display/warning. Direct connect to the iPhone/iPad preferred, but if it is a small/hidden interface component that would be okay as well.

They seem to have a lot of the screw onto the valve stem sensors, but I don't think that would be a good way to go, particularly if you use your vehicle off road..

Something like this, but that pairs via Bluetooth (Instead of requiring a USB connection) and has an IOS App for iPhone/iPad..

This seems to be the closest I can find, but no internal Sensors..

I’ve also wanted something like this; I considered getting ARB’s TPMS as part of their “Lynx” system, but did not actually buy it.

I have had these on my 110 since 2020. Works great, no issues. I use my phone as my navi and stereo with the Pioneer SPH 10BT head unit, so I can just look at tire pressue whenever I want. Excellent when you air down.

Thanks for the link. I'm thinking of a dash mounted iPad for Nav/Streaming Music/etc, and integration to it with the TPMS was the idea. Honestly, the APP interfaces are also a big part of it. The one you linked seems small and difficult to read, in comparison to this one that I had linked above. Now if only it was available with internal sensors, and rubber stems at a reasonable price, I'd be in..

Of Course Sadly, it doesn't look like Steelmate even still makes the system I had linked. Maybe that is why they are so expensive when found listed online..

To expand on my previous post—The two types I’ve seen are the valve replacement (which if my tires were not mounted I would have opted for) or the cap version. I went with caps— we will see how that goes! Works great so far though!

I like the app, easy to read.
