Replacement Doors for Tdi: Td5 vs Puma

Hi everyone,

I am replacing the corroded front doors on my 1995 110 and have genuine new Td5 and Puma doors available to me here in South Africa. The Td5 doors are about 25% cheaper and it looks like the Puma doors available to me have provision for a wiring loom (not needed). Are there major quality/corrosion inhibition differences between the two? Getting mixed info on forum searches. Thanks.

When you say Td5 doors, are you referring to the steel frame aluminum skin version with the welded corner frames? If so, then I'll tell you the Puma version, stamped steel frame and steel skin are far superior. The claim is that they are also galvanized, but when I was at the factory on the assembly line floor, they said they are not, but there is some other form of corrosion resistant coating on them.
