Removable Fiberglass Top

Long story short, I'll be driving a friend's 1995 Defender 90 from one location to another, about 850 miles. He has the removable fiberglass hardtop and an AC unit that's not blowing cold air. Is it possible to remove the hardtop, store it in the back for the drive? I hear these things are delicate and wouldn't want to damage it. If it can be removed are there instructions somewhere on how to remove it. Thanks in advance for the help.

No first hand experience doing that but of the ones I've seen taken off they don't store well. I'd try taking just the upper half of the rear door off to get some air moving but that would be the extent that I'd take it.

No way to do this. One option would be to pull the locking strips out of the side window gaskets and roll with no windows. They‘re easy to put back in with the correct 15 dollar tool.
