Reflections in the rear window

It should be the title of someone's memoirs... I get the headlights from oncoming traffic reflecting in my rear window (I see it in my mirror), so it appears like a car is barreling down on me, until we pass each other. It doesn't startle me because I've grown used to it. This is my first 110 & it has a slight tint to the rear windows. My question is - Does this happen to everyone because of the straight up & down rear window, or is it possibly my window tinting?

Happens to me. I don't have any window tinting and like you I believe its because of the straight vertical rear window. Its a Rover thing and Ive gotten use to it.

Okay. I thought the window tinting may be reflective. Thanks for letting me know it happens even without.

Definitely does it with our without tint. I do think that it is worse with tint if it is very dark tint.

To add, there are times when a refraction from street-lights will create a reflection of anyone in the front seat and show them off the rear door window.
You know there is no one back there, but in the rare cases when you see it, it's startling for a fraction.

3m Makes an anti-reflective film for monitors and such. I had them send me several samples of different films and sampled them. It’s a waste of time. Just wanna save someone else a hassle if you want to try those! I am still in search of the ellusive anti-reflection Film that’ll work...I have misjudged traffic fairly frequently over the last couple decades. Never saw the Disneyland ghost sitting next to or behind me though... I’d poop myself.
