Injector pump seems to be leaking fuels. Not from any feed or return lines.
Looks like might be the o ring .
Who does anyone recommend for injector pump servicing?
I have done the o ring before, pretty easy, but looking for other options as well.
Thanks in adv!

Anyone recall who sells the Viton o rings and kit to replace on the IP. Can’t find who I went thru. Thought he was associated with VW tdi or something.

Is it just that big o ring on the back leaking? You can replace that with the pump on the car.

I was worried I had a leaking pump and did a crazy amount of research on this - ended up just being the spill lines.

If it's just the head seal at the rear as mentioned above, it can be replaced without removing the pump.

Essentially, all but one bolt is removed - this remaining bolt is backed out just enough to accommodate access to the seal. If the pump is pulled away too far you're in a tricky situation.

Old seal is removed and a new seal is replaced - there are "dieselgeek" kids with O-Rings made to accommodate stretching over the entire pump assembly without compromising form or loosening up.

Rebuild and Replace is big money unless you can somehow find a used unit - even then, no guarantee it wont be problematic. It seems any pump manufactured before the introduction of the ultra-low sulfur diesel is susceptible to seal decay.

Thankfully the massive VW TDI cult has covered this extensively.

My best advice would be to really take the time to look critically at where the pump is leaking and assess options. Tracking leaks sucks. I know.

I have a link to the viton O-Ring kit and a detailed instructional on this procedure - unsure if I can post so sent via PM

There's no problem posting links to relevant products or instructions. I'd be interested in checking it out.
Thanks for clarifying

First link is the Viton O-Ring kit. Second link is install procedure.

Mark - Blue Ridge just did the injection pump on my 200tdi. It was leaking and the truck was smoky. They did a great job and and the truck runs better than ever- even has more power with the boost pin removed! Elton is the contact there and he is a Rover guy, too.

Thanks! I am doing the leak looking now. Hope it is the o ring, which I have done before.
Or a pipe. But good scoop on blue ridge. Heard good stuff from uncle Doug as well.

Let us know how it goes - I think with ULSD this will soon become one of the most common jobs diesel owners will have to do - do you think it's the head gasket?
Head gasket seems fine, no smoke or that stuff. Just a wet injector pump. Otherwise, running very happy. (Quickly knock on wood)

FIP pulled, no issues.
Packaging to send up to Blue Ridge.
Gonna get some other stuff done, since it’s parked and there is space to tinker.

I bought a rebuilt unit from Bearmach for a very reasonable price, well under $2k. Local shop wanted over $2k for a rebuild so I bought a new/rebuilt one. Looked brand new when it arrived.

I dont have time to break it down and try to figure out which seal was leaking.

Pleased to report GREAT service from Blue Ridge Diesel in Salem Va.

Solid work, spot on with estimate to final bill and installed and it started and runs really well. Got a gauge loaned and will check everything but it is running better than before.

On to timing belt.
