LOL... I hadn't realized that the whole hub needs to come off to change the rotor. Any pointers? Short cuts?

I'm quarantined, so at least I have some time on my hands, just hope I have all the materials

Unfortunately no short cuts here but at least you get to inspect pretty much everything that makes up the hub as well as the brake caliper obviously. I'd do a thorough inspection of the bearings/bearing race, re-pack with grease and replace the seals while I was in there.

I'm trying to think... I don't believe I have new bearings or seals. Or at least not enough for the whole job. I may have one set. (Assuming they are the same type as any Rover hub from this era.) Trying to decide if I want the truck taking up the garage space for the next two weeks, or if I should just re-park it and do other projects while stuck here.

Have the bearings/seals been replaced in the past? Things may be OK. Should be a 1-day job if you have everything on hand.

If the hub was not leaking oil, you can get by with old seals.
If the bearings were not worn out (they incredibly rarely are), you don't have to replace the bearings.
I don't remember when was the last time I replaced either - it was definitely more than 200 thousand combined Rover miles ago, and it was not necessary (a might-as-well-do-maintenance thing).
Replacing the rotor is an easy, even if more involved than usual, job.

Yeah, I have no real reason to believe that I need to replace those, it's just that I can't go get anything I might need once I open this thing up. I'll check the sound of the bearings, and for any looseness before proceeding, but I may just dive into it anyway.

The bolts holding the rotor to the hub are 12 point head. They can be reluctant to budge so air impact gun is my go-to. Also you will need 10mm to remove reluctor disc.
