So it comes with the Kool-Aid as well?
LOL!

But I'd still have the Series and the LWB, and it would give me time to actually work on the Series and the LWB.

How many of you have some other vehicle besides an "old" Rover that you drive? My wife drives her 2008 GL320. I have the Rovers.

Besides the 85 LR110 and the 76 Series III, I drive a Silverado and she drives a Toyota Sienna. Having a modern... no, newer....no, less dependent on tinkering vehicle makes old rover ownership less stressful. But I still love driving either old trucks.

Ski car - 2004 A4 Avant quattro (81k miles)
Summer car - 2004 Saab 9-3 convertible (30k miles)

The D1 fills in as does the Rangie on optimum days or with the Rangie when I need to winch out a stuck tractor. 😁

Even so, your initial question about keeping, driving, and maintaining an old Rover still is in the back of mind.

Although we just completed a trip to Maine in the Rangie (1,350 miles) without a problem, one is always on guard when driving. Love both Rovers yet possibly the idea of using them as meant isn’t truly feasible anymore.

Just get a cheap DD. that way you enjoy driving the rovers. Or ge a cheap DD, and invest a bit of money in the defender and bring that back to DD duty and resell the the vehicle you used while you got your defender up to spec.

My DD is a 2015 T4R. I have the Series and a 1972 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1300 for fun.
Don’t let the allure of a 70 series get to you. Understand that Toyota brings a level of confidence and reliability but they are still 25+ year old cars.
I grew up on Jeeps so I don’t think it’s a sellout. Giving up on your 110 and getting ANYTHING else is a sellout by definition. No reason to deride a Jeep more just cause we wish LR would have done the Gen 2 Defender right and we are pissy about it. ;)
Supposedly Toyota is redesigning the 70 series for 2022, betting it won’t be what diehard 70 series guys want either.
And yeah I don’t own defenders anymore, and never dd’d them in any real way. So I sold out for sure.

Forgot to add emoji so people know I am not being snarky! Cause I Am pissy about it! LOL!
