I'd like to suggest a separate for sale section where "dealers" can post their vehicles for sale. That will keep the enthusiast and owner vehicles separate from the sausage grinder cheap resprays for high mark up. It will also make it more obvious to buyers what their expectations should be.

I'll add it to the meetings agenda and to the PowerPoint presentation. Chris loves PowerPoint presentations.

I think that making a "dealers" section inherently violates the non-commercial charter that our Board of Directors approved. One of the things that I hate about Vertical Scope and other commercial forums is that they give vendors special privilege in exchange for money. It's a disservice to the customer.

If you guys have ideas for how to point out poor quality hack-job flip trucks without veering into perceived-value criticism, we're all ears. vBulletin has a thread rating system (stars) and perhaps y'all could use that to signal good vs bad deals.

Damned straight. I made this one up to explain the Shayne-Barry Proxy Forum War of 2016:

My suggestion was less special privilege and more out in the open so people can see they consistently mark up shit in poor condition and package it as "working as it should."

Your ideasounds good. I just hated more than anything hack job flip trucks on D90 being protected from criticism. Thread rating sounds good or maybe something different like a green yellow red rating for looks good, be skeptical and inspect with scrutiny, and stay away.

I like open discussion, too, but when people inevitably start crossing that line, people stop posting for-sale items because they don't want some self-appointed Internet appraiser to shit on their thread and hurt their chances of a sale elsewhere.

Classified forums are the lifeblood of a forum--they bring the most people by far--and we need to keep them fair for everyone involved, including sellers. For this reason, I think those forums need to be held to a higher moderation standard than the rest of the site. Perhaps we will allow criticism of dishonest behavior as well. I consider a shitty respray to be dishonest if it's advertised as being a tip-top truck.

I'll talk with Dave about it and we can come up with something.
