Quick Davia Under Dash AC Question after install..

Finished the install of A Davia under dash AC system in my under construction Def 110.. Its all wired, plumbed, etc, however not charged with freon as of yet. Tried to get the under dash blower to run today after I finished the wiring to see what I had screwed up, and it wont turn on.

I have it wired to white switched ignition and battery as per installation instructions. Im guessing / hoping / wondering if it needs to be charged with freon to run? i was under the impression that there was a pressure switch that wouldn't allow the compressor to kick on without proper freon level, but shouldn't the interior under dash blower still function regardless of freon level?

Basically trying to determine if i screwed up the wiring to the blower or if the reason it wont run is due to lack of refrigerant..

Truck is running or key in on position ? Check voltage on both hot and switched ?

Just did a system and fan blew with ign on. Refrigerant non sensed.

Do not turn on with engine running until charged.

Thanks. Ill try to have a look at it again tomorrow.

@KGH so you're saying ign on position , engine not running fan should run. Thats what I was thinking.

So the charge status doesn’t really matter for attempting to run the system with the engine running

Not for running blower. But I would nor run AC system (compressor) without proper oil and refrigerant fill.

At least that is my 2¢. I have been wrong before, like that time I got into British 4x4’s. Lol

So there is the relay AC controller in the plenum, by the drivers side knee (beside the vent) usually a red box, make sure that is plugged in properly and give it a whack if it is. Sometimes those relays stick after sitting for a while.
good luck.

Omg…if it was just ALWAYS that easy my life would be so much easier! Glad you found it. Searching for gremlins can be so elusive…

For leak testing and access to condenser, I left off the grill surround when I took mine in for AC recharge. Those hose connections were good, but they did find a torn o-ring on compressor connection.

Glad you got it going!
