Question on timing belt renewal

I am in process of FIP rebuild-off to Blue Ridge to solve a top end leak.
Now, my flywheel remains locked at #1 TDC.
Locking plate is still bolted to FIP pulley in timing case.
While underneath, notices lots of fuzz in wading plug hole- timing belt wear. Belt was renewed when I got the engine in 2016. Not by me.
Thinking I should renew timing belt while it is all undone, BUT, can-should I undertake this with FIP out or wait until renewed FIP is back in, to hold its respective pulley. Think I just answered my own question, but would like the second opinion.
Thanks

You wouldn’t be able to tension the belt without the FIP pulley so you might as well wait.

You might as well wait yes. Slide the new pump in then take the timing case off and do the belt. As noted in another thread here somewhere if you have the crank timing gear that is not made of a single piece of billet It may be shredding your belt

And the fix for that is the forged one that RN sells?
Not the one in the kit, but the stand alone one.

If you're talking about the kind with the outside ring spot welded on, I've seen those break off and really cause havoc.

Is it necessary to renew the crank timing gear when replacing the timing belt? ESP if the one on the truck is the upgraded rounded shoulder version vice the “not recommended” one that comes in the kit.

if the belt shows any signs of walking or the pulley shows wear then replace
