Proper Pulley combinations

Hey everyone, I've got a fresh 4.2 v8 from the Wedge Shop in my 110, but I'm struggling to find the "right" v belt pulley and bracket arrangement. I've got one that is passable, but it's def not proper.

I'm running power steering and an alternator, no AC. The PS arrangement came off an RRC, so it's not perfect. PS is obviously low and on the LH side (drivers), and alternator is high and RH side (passenger), and crank pulley is a single belt variant, but all of this could change.

A) Does anyone know if this combo was ever a stock option? Or was every 4.2 serp belt?

B) any good source for different size and offset pulleys? My 3 bolt PS pulley from the RRC setup was originally heavily offset, but with the current arrangement I likely need 0 offset. I'm using one from a diesel and it's much smaller than the original for the RRC, so I'm sure i'm just slowly murdering this PS pump.

I've gotten alignment to be OK, but it's not 100% perfect, it's slightly jury rigged, and I KNOW I need a better PS pulley solution at some point. Sourcing advice appreciated!

yes, the 4.2 did come with vee belt set up and later as a serpentine. the difference is dictated by front timing cover. vee set up has the oil pump driven by the distributor, the serpentine set up has the oil pump driven by crank.
on serpentine set up the water pump turns to the right and yes the water pumps are totally different between set up and no you cannot mix and match, I/E use a serpentine set up and run vee water pump or vice versa.

To reiterate the v-belt vs serp are entirely different. Ive had several v-belts and at a glance they have all appeared to be identical. I believe at some point the AC pulley changed from a v-belt to a flat ribbed belt and I think maybe the alternator pulley changed, otherwise they are the same. I have a 4.2 on a stand that has everything intact sans the alt and AC, Ill take some photos this afternoon.

This would be amazing!

And yes, never even considered whether mixing and matching v belt and serp was remotely feasible, haha.

it's all a v belt setup bc I used the ancillaries from my outgoing 3.5. In retrospect, buying all new serp parts and water pump during this conversion would have been smart, but i was in a relative time crunch and wanted to ensure i could have this motor in and running in a week's time.

My crank pulley is less than round/flat, so I'm going to be buying a new one anyway, just a question of whether i should be going for the same part, a twin belt version, etc.

Also I made drawings of the mating surfaces of the water pump pulley, the PS pulley, and the crank pulley, so if needed I can get some true spacers made by SendCutSend.

Not sure if these help. I can take more if needed. It's a 4.2 from a 93

Very helpful!

is this engine going back in a truck? If not, can I buy the entire setup from you?

also tensioner! Mine doesn’t have and would make all of this muuuuuuch better

Hell, would even take the PS pump and bracket if you wanted to offload those too. I’m convinced I’ve toasted this PS pump by running too small a pulley.
