I do not agree with the unrealistic logic, that if you guys open a series forum section that if traffic doesn't chime in immediately that you suffer a bad omen because you have an empty bar and when people see the lack of traffic, things couldn't get worse.
That's just plain silly!
If you open up a series section, you need to have realistic expectations that are NOT driven by the stigma of empty bar fears!
If we don't get more traffic here, we gonna shut this sombeech right down, never to return, that's it, I made my ruling, I am boss of this small piece of cyber space.

Well the reality is that you have to give things time, and that time is not 3 weeks or 3 months.
It might take a year and obviously a year is too long to line up with management's expectations on this forum.

For example: The other forum has a Santana section that given time will take off.
The management of this forum were offered the idea and it was declined, why?
because Santana's are not "real" Land Rovers?
Right now they only have one place to communicate and collaborate and it could have been here, but it is not?
Whether we like it or not there is a steady flow of them coming into North America and it will grow into a community, just like we did.
The joke of shutting them out is long since old.
I've seen postings and threads from people in Spain starting to come up, yeah not many, but it is growing.
People that own them may have a lot to learn, but we all have to start somewhere.
I have gotten into disagreement discussions with Santana owners myself, when they say that Santana's are the same, the doors are the same, the dash and bulkhead of the Series III is the same as a Rover Series III. Why? Because it is not the same.
To continue with the example: Santana owners are looking for parts and shops and a way to locate other owners of the same marque.
They need to be educated in many cases and often can use some guidance.
They should not have to suffer the "jokes on you run-around" of call Zack at Rovers North for all your parts needs.
That is nothing but triplicated smug, un-gentleman like scoundrel behavior that lacks any class, grace, or sophistication.

Absolutely, having owned many Land Rover models throughout my life... Why not? After all a Series is just an older Defender. They just called them NADA, CKDs, and ROW back then.

Correct me if I am wrong, no one is desperate, just proposing best practices for birds of a feather.

Not quite sure I understand what you mean by the “them” in your comment. Know the meaning of your abbreviations yet other than NADA being applied to the approx 811 imported 1967 Series IIa 109 SW haven’t seen the others used with Series vehicles.

Just an opinion and like assholes everyone has one, as a former Series owner just went to Guns and Rovers for info. versus the other forums out there. Also LRO Digest. Not sure it would add anything to this site.

Guns and Rovers is the current place for Series knowledge. Briggs posts there and he is a Series Zen Master.
The other Defender site has a mix of very knowledgeable members, newbies and people who shouldn't be allowed to post on the inter-web. Bad advise over there doesn't surprise me one bit but there is plenty of good advise too.
Here, most members are pretty squared away when it comes to all things Rover mechanical, Defender, Disco and Series.
Our offer still stands regarding Series postings. If you create enough posts we will give them their own place. If there are enough people that want to post original content cat videos, how to ear wax sculptures, whatever, we can make that happen too. Personally I would like to see an airplane camping section or a home gunsmithing section but as Chris posted earlier........... "A single busy bar is always more fun than a street full of empty bars."

Here's a good start.
Our daughter is in the school of engineering and made this wood burning of a Series III 88 we had with one of our 3.0 liter GM 4 cylinder crossflow engines.
Our son named the 88, Little Pepe, because it was so fast.

Not sure its too helpful to make too broad a 'church' on any one site.
I have a couple of LR series 1's (a NADA 80 inch and a UK spec 107 SW) and go to the S1 club site for information and help on those
I have a couple of Disco 2's and use Discoweb for info / help on those
And an 83 110 CSW which is why I come here.
Model specific sites are much more useful in my opinion.
