Paint code for X MOD trucks

What Dave said. It's an MOD Defender. What's the worst that could happen?

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures. But,I painted the entire truck, so it's not really a fair comparison. Plus, I changed the sheen on it.
I looked all over the truck trying to find a spot that had a uniform color. Back of vent flap was the only thing I found that wasn't faded, repainted or some different color. It became a joke walking around the truck with a sample finding areas it matched.

Ok, I keep getting a message saying requested entity is too large. Let me find some smaller pics and I will upload them for you Chris.

A compressor, hvlp gun, respirator, paint and a case of beer, what could possibly go wrong?

I just keep flashing back to all of those times I got kicked out of art class in school. Painting a vehicle seems too much like art.

I got in touch with a local body shop. I'm going to bring the truck and new doors to them when their paint supplier is on-site next week and they're going to do their best to match the paint. We'll see how it turns out...

Remind them that the existing paint is non-IR reflective...

Yep, did that already. There's nothing we can do about that. Unless someone manages to import military Nato Green paint, I'm stuck trying to match it with PPG or whatever paint these guys use.

This is definitely not going to be a perfect match. Just want it good enough so that it's not totally obvious in photographs.

Already been to ppg. they don't do a flat automotive paint. I was told the best they could do would be a flat clear coat and I declined that. A local industrial coating co is going to mix me up a color match. Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks, Doug. These guys were talking about mixing up a color and then adding "flattener" to it until it matched. I'm going to have them paint a floorboard and I'll post some comparison pics.
