One Night Trip

Had a good overnight trip this weekend to Central Oregon.... where it's always dry and dusty. Unless it alters between snow and mud that is so slick I literally drifted around the corners at walking speed. It was difficult to walk in, and looks just like a normal dirt road, but the first 3-4 inches stays on your tires and creates ice-like effects when driving.

Thanks.

I have hosed the mud off three or four times. The truck was sitting in the garage for 7 days. And now I'm trying to get the rest of the mud out from the springs and left over areas that the water could not clean.

The springs are still about 90% full, and when I started poking around with a screw driver, the tool got stuck in the mud. And every time I pull it out, I have to use a gloved hand to wipe the mud off the screw driver!

Here's a final pic from one of the stops along the way:

Finally. After two extensive hose-off sessions, one week of driving in the rain, then a week of sitting in the garage, and a couple of hours with a screw driver, jack, and flashlight.

It's crazy how many spots there are for mud to hide.
Reminder to self - Wear green tinted sunglasses & see central Oregon when it's dry. I'll save myself a lot of work!

Yes, I'm already planning on putting some auxiliary mud flaps to keep much of this from happening again. And one that I think must be factory, protecting the inside of the rear lights, is missing. The clean up for that side was much more difficult than for the side that still has the flap in place.
